News: The Bills released the following players: TE Derek Fine, WR Justin Jenkins, DE Jermaine McGhee, LB Ashlee Palmer, DE Marcus Smith and DB John Wendling.
Analysis: Of these players, only Fine and Jenkins had a hint of Fantasy value since playing time wasn't completely out of reach for either player. In fact, Fine could still develop into something down the line with another team. The rest of the Bills players don't warrant consideration in Fantasy.
News: The following Bills players are inactive for Week 17 vs. Indianapolis: QB Trent Edwards, WR Steve Johnson, LB Bryan Scott, LB Ashlee Palmer and WR Josh Reed.
Analysis: Edwards and Reed, the only players in this group with any minimal Fantasy value, had already been declared out earlier this week.
News: Bills starting safeties Donte Whitner (right thumb) and Bryan Scott (left ankle) did not practice Wednesday and are likely to miss their second straight games in Week 5 against the Browns. Reserve defensive end Chris Ellis' status is uncertain; he remains excused after his mother died last weekend. Elsewhere, in a bid to bolster their run defense, the Bills shifted veteran starter Kawika Mitchell from outside to middle linebacker while moving rookie LB Ashlee Palmer to the outside and LB Marcus Buggs out of the starting lineup. DT John McCargo (groin) returned to practice.
Analysis: Of these players, only Mitchell deserves a pick up off waivers since he'll have the potential to post a bunch of tackles in the middle of a suspect Buffalo defense. Whitner is also worth holding on to in deeper IDP leagues since he's pretty good when he's healthy. Everyone else listed shouldn't be touched in standard Fantasy play.
News: The following players are inactive for the Bills in Monday night's game in New England: WR Steve Johnson, DB Drayton Florence, DB Ellis Lankster, LB Ashlee Palmer, DL Chris Ellis and TE Derek Fine.
Analysis: Johnson will often be inactive for games for the Bills. He, like the rest of the players listed above, are not Fantasy options.
News: Linebacker Ashlee Palmer practiced on a limited basis Wednesday for the first time in more than two weeks since spraining his ankle.
Analysis: An undrafted rookie free agent out of Mississippi, Palmer had impressed Bills coaches before getting hurt. However, he is not expected to have a big enough role to be used in IDP Fantasy leagues.
