Jaguars pass catchers contribute in loss

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/28/2014) The Jaguars backup pass catchers were able to get in some work Week 4.

Jacksonville spread the ball around quite a bit, allowing 10 different receivers to come up with a reception. Allen Robinson made some noise, hauling in five passes for 38 yards. He was targeted seven times, which was second on the club.

Mike Brown had one catch for 12 yards. Fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou also hauled in one pass, gaining 4 yards. Nic Jacobs had the least yardage of all receivers on the day, but had the only touchdown. In the second quarter, Jacobs came down with a 2 yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles.

They'll take on the Steelers Week 5.

(9/26/2014) The Jaguars have issued an injury report Friday dominated by probables for their matchup Sunday in San Diego.

The probables are running back Toby Gerhart (ankle), tight end Clay Harbor (calf), wide receiver Allen Hurns (ankle), defensive tackle Roy Miller (ankle), tackle Austin Pasztor (hand), linebacker Paul Posluszny (ankle) and fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou (ankle).

Who was Blake Bortles throwing to?

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/22/2014) The Jaguars made the inevitable move to put Blake Bortles in Sunday, and he should remain the team's starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. What does that mean for the team's skill position players?

Bortles took over at halftime and led the team on three scoring drives in his first six times out. He showed a proclivity for big plays -- two touchdowns -- and big mistakes -- two interceptions -- and made full use of the team's weapons. He targeted eight players in the game, and it broke down like this:

Cecil Shorts: eight targets, five receptions, one touchdown (7 yards); Allen Hurns: three targets, one reception, one touchdown (63 yards). one interception; Allen Robinson: eight targets, five receptions, one interception; Jordan Todman: one target; Mickey Shuler: one target; Will Ta'ufo'ou: one target, one reception; Denard Robinson: one target; Toby Gerhart: one target, one reception

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
