Allen keeps it up

News: Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen had another solid performance in Week 15 against the Dolphins. He finished the game with seven tackles -- all solo -- in a 24-3 loss.
Analysis: Allen zoomed past his career high in tackles earlier in the season and currently sits at 115 with two games remaining. He has been a consistent contributor this season, and remains a viable Fantasy option down the stretch in IDP formats.

Allen keeps piling up tackles

News: Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen tied for the team lead with nine tackles, including seven solo, Week 13 at Buffalo. He's averaging 10.7 tackles over his last three games.
Analysis: Allen is approaching teammate Paul Posluszny in terms of consistency and should probably be owned in more Fantasy IDP leagues than he is. Unless tackles just don't count for anything in your league, consider making a play for Allen off the waiver wire.

Allen with another solid game

News: Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen finished the Week 12 win over Tennessee with eight tackles. Allen had seven solo stops and one pass defended in the game.
Analysis: Allen now has 93 tackles on the season as he nears 100 for the Jaguars. Allen has 23 tackles in his last two games and is beginning to get rolling again for Jacksonville. Heading into Week 13, Allen can be active in deeper Fantasy IDP formats.

Allen makes 15 tackles Week 11

News: Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen recorded 15 tackles during the Week 11 overtime loss at Houston Sunday. Allen had 11 solo stops in the game. He had plenty of opportunities for tackles with quarterback Matt Schaub throwing 55 passes.
Analysis: The 26-year-old Allen recorded his first double-digit tackling game since early in the season when he had three straight. He is a worthy Fantasy IDP option going forward if he can get rolling again but only in deeper formats.

Allen remains consistent

News: Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen posted six tackles for the third game in a row Thursday against the Colts, as he came in third on the team in a 27-10 loss in Week 10. Each of Allen’s stops was of the solo variety.
Analysis: Allen has already established a career high in tackles, and he continues to add to that as the season goes on. He has 70 through the first nine games, putting him on pace for more than 120 on the year. He has solid Fantasy value in deeper formats, though he is by no means a must-start.

Allen has another modest effort

News: Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen recorded six tackles, all solo, Week 9 against the Lions. He has no more than seven tackles in any of his last four games, averaging 5.5 during that stretch. He recorded double-digit tackles in three of his first four games, averaging 10.5 during that stretch.
Analysis: Clearly, Allen hasn't been as productive lately as he was earlier in the year. Because he doesn't contribute anything other than tackles, you can't afford to stick with him in Fantasy IDP leagues if he keeps doing this. Allen remains a usable option, but you might want to check the waiver wire for alternatives.

Allen slows down in October

News: Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen tied for a team-best seven tackles (six solo) Week 8 at Green Bay. He also had one pass defense.
Analysis: Allen's production has slowed down a bit in October. After managing 42 tackles in four September games, Allen has just 16 tackles in three October contests. It seems teams are finding out ways how to avoid Allen on the field. Although, he is still having a breakout season in 2012 and is on pace for 100-plus tackles, so Allen remains a viable Fantasy option in most IDP formats.

Allen stumbles in Week 5

News: Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen had five tackles, including four solo stops, during the Jaguars' 41-3 loss to Chicago in Week 5. Allen had posted at least 11 tackles in each of his past three games, but saw that streak end with his lowest output of the young season.
Analysis: In just five games, Allen is already just one tackle short of matching his total -- and career high -- from last season. The Jaguars' linebacker corps seems to be the team's only strength so tackles should continue to be plenty for Allen. Consider him a viable option in most Fantasy IDP formats.

Allen on a tear

News: Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen stayed productive during Sunday's contest against the Bengals in Week 4. Allen totaled a team-high 11 tackles, including eight solo and a tackle for loss in a 27-10 defeat.
Analysis: Allen has had three consecutive double-digit tackle performances and could be on his way to his first 100-tackle season. He already has 33 tackles and two pass deflections through his first four games this season and should be a solid option in most IDP formats heading into Week 4 at home against Chicago.

Allen continues to impress

News: Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen had 11 tackles, including nine solo stops, and a pass defended during the Jaguars' 22-17 win over Indianapolis in Week 3. It was the second straight game Allen has posted double-digits in tackles and he now has 31 total on the season.
Analysis: For the second consecutive week, Allen has paced the Jaguars in tackles as he remains a worthy replacement with Clint Sessions sidelined until at least Week 7 with a concussion. Fantasy owners should look to grab him off waivers as a capable fill-in in most IDP formats at this point.

Allen leads Jags in tackles

News: Jacksonville linebacker Russell Allen had a big day against the Texans in Week 2. Allen registered a team-high 13 tackles (12 solo) in a 27-7 defeat.
Analysis: Allen continues to have a productive campaign as he has a total of 20 tackles through his first two games. He should be viewed as a viable Fantasy option in IDP formats heading into a Week 3 matchup against the Colts.

Jags re-sign two

News: The Jaguars and safety Dwight Lowery agreed to a four-year contract Tuesday night after his agent talked to several teams during the first few hours of free agency. The Jaguars also signed versatile backup linebacker Russell Allen to a three-year contract. Allen was a restricted free agent.
Analysis: Neither of these guys are expected to be productive for Fantasy purposes in 2012. Leave both off of rosters.

Allen on late-season run

News: Jacksonville LB Russell Allen finished tied for the team lead with seven tackles during the Jaguars' 41-14 victory over Tampa Bay in Week 14. Allen, who also recorded a pass defended, has collected 20 tackles over his past three outings.
Analysis: Allen tallied only 13 tackles during his first 10 games of the season, but has experienced a surge in production recently. He still expected to produce many sacks or interceptions and should be viewed as a marginal Fantasy option in IDP formats for the rest of the year.

Allen finishes with six tackles

News: Jacksonville LB Russell Allen had a decent performance on Monday night Week 13 against the Chargers. Allen finished the losing effort with six tackles and four of them were of the solo variety.
Analysis: Allen's six tackles give him 26 on the year for the Jaguars. Allen has 1/2 a sack to his credit as well as a forced fumble. As far as Fantasy IDPs go, Allen is merely low-end quality.

Allen leads Jaguars in tackles

News: Jaguars LB Russell Allen led the team in tackles Week 5 at Seattle, more than doubling his previous total on the season. Allen had 10 tackles in the game after recording only four in the team's first four games.
Analysis: Allen came out of nowhere to put up big numbers Week 5 at Seattle. However, this one good game does not make him a viable Fantasy option. He should remain unowned Week 6 against Seattle unless he can duplicate this performance.
