Patriots make roster move
(12/9/2009) The New England Patriots have activated defensive lineman Titus Adams from their practice squad and placed defensive back Bret Lockett on season-ending injured reserve with a groin injury. Adams was a seventh-round draft choice by the New York Jets out of Nebraska in 2006. He spent all last season and this season on the Patriots practice squad. Lockett played in 10 games for the Patriots, mostly on special teams.
(9/6/2009) One day after cutting deep into his roster, Browns coach Eric Mangini did some more grooming. The Browns were awarded defensive back Marquis Floyd from Seattle, running back Cedric Peerman from Baltimore, defensive back DeAngelo Smith from Dallas and offensive lineman Phil Trautwein from St. Louis. To make room for the quartet, Mangini waived linebacker Marcus Benard, offensive lineman Corey Hilliard and defensive back Bret Lockett.
