RT Doug Free (ankle) among Cowboys' inactives

(12/21/2014) Starting right tackle Doug Free (ankle) heads the Cowboys' list of inactives for Sunday's showdown against the Colts. Also sitting out are quarterback Dustin Vaughan, defensive back Jakar Hamilton, linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring), offensive tackle Tony Hills, offensive tackle Donald Hawkins, defensive end Kenneth Boatright and defensive tackle Josh Brent.

According to NFL Network, Free has a stress fracture in his foot. Jermey Parnell will start in his place.


Conflicting reports on Cowboys RT Doug Free's ankle injury

(12/16/2014) While the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Cowboys right tackle Doug Free (ankle) is expected to misss the last two regular-season games, team owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan he has "every reason to believe" Free will play Sunday against the Colts.

Free missed the second half of the Week 15 win at Philadelphia, and was replaced by Jermey Parnell. "Doug has been working with this ankle, and it is a concern," Jones told the radio station. "I have every reason to believe, though, that by the time Sunday gets here that we'll be able to get him out there and get some play out of him.

"That's going to be the way this injury is probably for the rest of the year, to some degree," Jones added.

(11/7/2014) The Cowboys have unveiled its final injury report for Sunday's clash in London against Jacksonville. Tyrone Crawford (knee) was the only player on the list ruled out for the game. Nick Hayden (shoulder) and Rolando McClain (knee, groin) were deemed questionable.

Tony Romo (back), arguably the most notable name on the report, practiced in full Friday and was ruled probable for Sunday. The following players also received the green light and were labeled probable: Bruce Carter (finger), Barry Church (shoulder), Jack Crawford (calf), Doug Free (foot), Jack Hanna (hamstring), Anthony Hitchens (chest), Ronald Leary (groin), Jermey Parnell (chest) and Anthony Spencer (knee, foot).

The list includes cornerback Brandon Carr (hamstring), linebacker Bruce Carter (thigh/finger), linebacker Rolando McClain (shoulder), defensive end Jeremy Mincey (illness) and defensive end Anthony Spencer (knee).

Also suiting up is offensive tackle Jermey Parnell, who was probable with a chest injury.

(10/10/2014) As expected, linebacker Bruce Carter has been ruled out by the Cowboys for their Week 6 battle at Seattle. He has been plagued by a thigh injury.

The Friday injury report indicates, however, that the team is otherwise fairly healthy. Listed as questionable are linebackers Cameron Lawrence (thigh) and Rolando McClain (groin), tackle Jermey Parnell (chest) and defensive end Jack Crawford (calf).

The probables are headlined by quarterback Tony Romo (back), defensive end Anthony Spencer (knee) and wideout Dez Bryant (shoulder). Also receiving that designation are defensive tackle Henry Melton (calf) and defensive back Tyler Patmon (illness).

Daniel added to Saints practice squad


(9/6/2009) The Saints have added rookie quarterback Chase Daniel to the team's practice squad. The Saints also announced Sunday the team signed seven other players to the practice squad, including two 2008 draft choices - wide receiver Adrian Arrington and defensive tackle DeMario Pressley. The other players signed to the Saints' practice squad on Sunday include running back P.J. Hill, guard Tim Duckworth, wide receiver Matt Simon, cornerback Danny Gorrer and tackle Jermey Parnell.

Saints add Parnell, Milner to TE corps


(8/16/2009) Because of injuries to several reserve tight ends, Saints coach Sean Payton has moved rookie DE Jeremy Parnell to tight end and changed his number from 79 to 89. The 6-foot-6, 278-pound Parnell was a basketball player at Ole Miss. The Saints signed him as an undrafted free agent. The Saints also signed a new tight end, Martrez Milner, a third-year pro who's regular season experience is limited to eight games with Atlanta in 2007.
