Geno Atkins no lock for Week 1?

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/2/2014) Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins' status is not known after suffering a torn ACL in the middle of last season. In February it was reported that he hadn't had any setbacks but ESPN says it's "anyone's guess" when he'll be back on the field. The Bengals are apt to keep Devon Still and/or Brandon Thompson if Atkins isn't ready for the start of the season.

Bengals defense in good shape for Sunday

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/17/2013) The  Bengals defense is missing three players for Week 11 against the Browns, but the majority of the unit is still healthy for Sunday's game. Linebackers Michael Boley (hamstring), Vontaze Burfict (knee) and James Harrison (calf) were able to suit up for kickoff, along with defensive lineman Brandon Thompson (ankle) and defensive back Terence Newman (ankle).

Boatload of Bengals on injury report

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/15/2013) The banged-up Bengals listed a variety of designations on their Friday injury report, which features eight defenders among its 11 players.

Guard Kevin Zeitler (foot) has been ruled out for the Sunday game against the Browns, as has defensive tackle Devon Still (elbow). Deemed doubtful are safety Chris Crocker (hamstring) and linebacker Rey Maualuga (knee). Linebacker James Harrison (calif) is questionable.

The rest are probable. They are linebackers Vontaze Burfict (knee) and Michael Boley (hamstring), center Kyle Cook (shoulder), tight end Jermaine Gresham (groin), cornerback Terence Newman (ankle) and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (ankle).

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/14/2013) Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict (knee), who leads NFL with 102 tackles, and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (ankle) returned to practice Thursday after missing the Wednesday session. Thompson made his first start of the season in Week 10. Both should play Sunday against the Browns.

Bengals missing four defensive players

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8/17/2013) Bengals safety George Iloka (wrist) and defensive linemen Michael Johnson (undisclosed), Carlos Dunlap (concussion), Brandon Thompson (knee) were held out of Saturday's preseason contest against the Titans. All players could be eligible to return for the Aug. 24 exhibition game in Dallas, according to the team's official website.

Big guys highlight Bengals draft

(5/7/2012) In addition to the selection of Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, the Bengals added Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still, Clemson defensive tackles Brandon Thompson, Iowa cornerback Shaun Prater and Boise State safety George Iloka. Still and Thompson are both big guys who can clog the line of scrimmage while Prater is a keen ballhawk and Iloka is a raw project who played corner in college and could be a solid safety eventually.
