Raiders finish line upgrades with Austin Howard signing

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/12/2014) The Raiders made the offensive line a priority in the early hours of free agency, adding their second lineman in the part of Austin Howard Tuesday, according to ESPN.com.

Howard spent most of three years with the Jets, emerging as a starter over the last two seasons and earning himself a $30 million deal from the Raiders over five years, with $15 million in guaranteed money. Howard will likely start at right tackle for the Raiders, the position he filled in New York.

Jets must address offensive line

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/13/2014) The Jets' right side of their offensive line will be eligible for free agency this spring, something the team has to get a grip on. ESPN thinks the team would be wise to keep both guard Willie Colon and tackle Austin Howard.

Howard has stepped up and played a large role for Gang Green after being a practice squad guy. He allowed two sacks per ProFootballFocus.com and has plenty of good years left in front of him since he's 27.

Colon is older and is coming off a torn biceps injury suffered in Week 17. That means he'll miss most of the offseason program but should be OK for training camp. He might not worth a lavish deal but could help out.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/20/2013) The Jets have a lengthy injury report for Week 3 against the Bills, however they are expected to have the majority of their players available for Sunday's game. Of the 16 players listed, 15 are probable, with only offensive lineman Oday Aboushi (knee) ruled out.
