Two Falcons ruled probable Week 17

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/27/2013) Falcons CB Robert Alford and OL Peter Konz are probable Week 17.

Alford is dealing with an ankle injury, but was able to practice in full Friday. Konz has a neck injury, but fully participated in practice throughout the week.

Paul Worrilow, Robert Alford lead way in tackles

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/16/2013) Falcons linebacker Paul Worrilow has gotten used to leading the way in tackles, but he got help from an unlikely source in defensive back Robert Alford Week 15 against the Redskins.

Both players had nine tackles -- four solo for Worrilow and five solo for Alford. It was the seventh straight game in which Worrilow recorded at least nine, giving him an average of 13.1 during that stretch. Alford's previous high was only five.

Falcons rookies come through with picks

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(11/3/2013) The Falcons got a pair of first-half interceptions from their rookie cornerbacks Week 9 at Carolina. First-rounder Desmond Trufant recorded his first career pick early in the second quarter, ending Cam Newton's streak of three games without an interception. Second-rounder Robert Alford recorded his second career pick late in the second quarter, barely keeping his feet in bounds on a long pass to the back corner of the end zone to end a scoring threat just before halftime.

Trufant finished with five tackles, including four solo. Alford finished with two tackles, including one solo.

Three probable Falcons ready to go

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/27/2013) Falcons TE Chase Coffman, CB Robert Alford and DT Corey Peters are active Week 8 against the Cardinals.

Alford has been dealing with an ankle injury. Peters has a shoulder issue, and Coffman is battling a knee injury.

Only one ruled out for Falcons defense in Week 8

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/25/2013) The Falcons defense is mostly in good shape for Week 8 against the Cardinals, as two of four defenders listed on the injury report are expected to play through their ailments. While linebacker Stephen Nicholas (thigh) has already been ruled out for Sunday's game, defensive back Robert Alford (ankle) and defensive lineman Corey Peters (shoulder) are both probable. Akeem Dents (ankle) is questionable as well.

Relative unknowns step up for Asante Samuel

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/8/2013) With Falcons defensive back Asante Samuel inactive because of a thigh injury, fellow cornerbacks Robert McClain and Robert Alford played more than usual and made significant contributions statistically. McClain was second on the team with 10 tackles, including eight solo, and Alford recorded his first ever interception. Alford also had a tackle.

Falcons steal CB Alford

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/26/2013) Cornerback Robert Alford of Southeastern Louisiana has been selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the NFL draft. Alford impressed scouts at the Senior Bowl after recording 10 interceptions, including four in the 2012 season, at Southeastern Louisiana. Alford also returned punts and kickoffs in 2012, taking advantage of his 4.39 speed in the 40-yard dash.
