Giants given roster exemption for Jayron Hosley

(9/29/2014) Giants cornerback Jayron Hosley is officially allowed to return to action after finishing off a four-game suspension.

However, the Giants were given a one-game roster exemption following Hosley's reinstatement, so he doesn't count against the 53-man roster. The Giants have until Oct. 6 to make a roster decision, according to NJ.com.

(9/27/2014) Giants cornerback Jayron Hosley was reinstated from a four-game suspension Friday, the New York Daily News reports, and the Giants have a roster exemption until Monday before needing to reduce the roster to 53 players.

Hosley was hit with a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The Giants wrapped up Week 4 with a win over the Redskins Thursday. The Giants appear unlikely to cut any of the team's current defensive backs to make room for Hosley, according to the Daily News, so an interesting decision looms for the team.

(10/26/2013) New York Giants defensive players cornerback Jayron Hosley, who has a hamstring injury, and defensive tackle Shaun Rogers, who is dealing with a knee issue, have been downgraded to out on the official injury report for the Week 8 game at Philadelphia Sunday, the New York Daily News reports.

Rogers and Hosley were both unable to travel to Philadelphia with the team Saturday and were therefore ruled out for the game.

(8/24/2013) Giants cornerback Jayron Hosley had to leave Saturday's preseason game against the Jets due to a sprained ankle, the New York Daily News reports. Hosley was carried off the field by trainers and was unable to put weight on his legs. 

After going back to the locker room, the Giants announced that Hosley would be out for the remainder of the game.
