Giants cut down to 53

News: The Giants released several players on the way to the final 53 for the active roster. Among the players cut were LB Phillip Dillard, LB Adrian Tracy, QB Ryan Perrilloux, RB Andre Brown and Charles Scott, TE Christian Hopkins, WR Darius Reynaud, DEs Ayanga Okpokowuruk, Craig Marshall, Alex Hall and Justin Trattou and Dwayne Hendricks and DBs Joe Burnett, David Sims and Jerrard Tarrant. TE Daniel Coats, DT Gabe Watson and K Rhys Lloyd.
Analysis: None of the players mentioned above were expected to contest for a starting spot, so they were already pretty irrelevant in Fantasy play. Continue to ignore them in all leagues.

Healthy Tracy can compete for job

News: Giants second-year LB Adrian Tracy was still new to the position when he was placed on IR with an elbow injury last year, and he is back in 2011. “I think he definitely is (further along),” coach Tom Coughlin said. “He’s done fine. The learning has been good.” Tracy -- a converted defensive end -- could compete for the starting strongside spot with LB Clint Sintim.
Analysis: Tracy had elbow surgery last season nearly one year ago, and he has come full-circle to the point that he may be thrown into a starting role if he plays his cards right in camp and the preseason. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the situation as it progresses, though we can't see the unproven Tracy making a big Fantasy impact. Still, if he wins the job, consider him to be an option worth keeping an eye on in deeper IDP formats. Ignore him on Draft Day.

Tracy placed on IR

News: The Giants placed LB Adrian Tracy on IR Tuesday, one day after he underwent elbow surgery.
Analysis: The 184th overall pick in April's draft, Tracy dislocated his elbow earlier this month and will now have to wait to begin his pro career. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy play.

Tracy could miss 2-3 weeks

News: Giants LB Adrian Tracy is having an MRI on his dislocated elbow. He could miss 2-3 weeks, as reported on Sunday.
Analysis: Tracy will be a project for the Giants and has minimal Fantasy value in seasonal IDP leagues. He probably is not worth a look off the waiver wire at this time.

Giants sign rookie Tracy

News: The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Giants signed LB Adrian Tracy, a rookie from William & Mary, who played DE in college. Tracy was the 184th overall pick in April's draft.
Analysis: Tracy will be a project for the Giants and has minimal Fantasy value in seasonal IDP leagues. He is only worth a late-round pick in deep rookie drafts this season.

Giants draft DE Tracy

News: The Giants drafted DE Adrian Tracy in the sixth round of the NFL Draft at No. 184 overall. Tracy from William & Mary, could be moved to outside linebacker.
Analysis: The Giants value lots of movement on their defensive line, and Tracy could be part of the rotation or see time at linebacker. Keep an eye on what happens during training camp, but Tracy has minimal Fantasy value this year and is not worth drafting in the majority of IDP leagues.
