(10/10/2013) What was suspected on Wednesday was confirmed on Thursday: safety Will Allen is back with Pittsburgh. He played for the Steelers from 2010 to 2012 before leaving for Dallas, which cut him this week.

Allen has only been a starter sporadically during his NFL career, which included a six-year stint in Tampa Bay. But he played in nearly every game for the Steelers during his time there.

The Steelers are expected to release Da'mon Cromartie-Smith to make room on the roster for Allen, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

(10/9/2013) The struggling Steelers might be bringing back safety Will Allen, who was cut this week by Dallas, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, which reported that he was seen in the building on Wednesday.

Allen started the first two games for the Cowboys this season before being benched.

(9/9/2013) Cowboys safety Will Allen made his presence felt with an interception during Sunday's season opener against the Giants.

Allen picked off Eli Manning on a 3rd-and-10 pass in the first quarter. He posted three total tackles (two solo) and two defended passes in a 36-31 victory.

The Cowboys will travel to Kansas City in Week 2.
