News: The Redskins continued trimming their roster Friday in preparation for the regular season and released the following players: quarterback Jonathan Crompton; running back Tristan Davis; defensive back Travon Bellamy; defensive linemen Doug Worthington and Delvin Johnson; linebacker Bryan Kehl; and wide receiver Terrence Austin. It was the second time Crompton was released this week after re-signing with the team Wednesday.
Analysis: Some of these players were able to make an early impression in training camp and survive the first round of cuts. However, neither of them were ultimately expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left on waivers at this point.
News: Dolphins RB Tristan Davis was waived on Monday.
Analysis: The Dolphins already have four established running backs and Davis was always going to be long shot to make the roster. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy play.
News: The Dolphins signed the following players to Reserve/Futures contracts: RB Tristan Davis, WR Ryan Guice-Mullen, WR Taurus Johnson, DE Brian Johnston, TE John Nalbone, DB Nate Ness and WR Julius Pruit.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now.
News: The Detroit Lions announced that they have traded QB Kevin OConnell to the New York Jets for an undisclosed future draft pick. The team also released DE Ikaika Alama-Francis, CB Cletis Gordon and WR Adam Jennings. Seven players were signed Sunday by the Lions to the teams practice squad, including: WR John Broussard, TE Carson Butler, RB Tristan Davis, LB Zack Follett, C Dan Gerberry, TE Dan Gronkowski and T Lydon Murtha.
Analysis: None of the players listed above figure to see much of the playing field this season unless someone ahead of them on the depth chart gets injured. Leave them on waivers in all Fantasy leagues.
