Cedric Thornton scores, recovers two fumbles in Week 5 win

(10/5/2014) Eagles defensive lineman Cedric Thornton recovered two fumbles and scored a touchdown in his team's 34-28 win over the Rams in Week 5.

A sack early in the second half caused Rams quarterback Austin Davis to fumble, and Thornton was able to come up with the ball in the end zone. His second fumble recovery was more impressive, as he rumbled 40 yards after scooping up the ball before being brought down at the St. Louis 24-yard line. He had just two tackles in the game, his lowest total since Week 1. The Eagles host the Giants in Week 6.

(2/11/2014) Eagles defensive end Cedric Thornton, who went undrafted out of Southern Arkansas in 2011, has established himself as an "impact player" and the team's "most productive and consistent defensive lineman," reports ESPN.com. Thornton had 60 tackles, two passes defensed, a safety and a sack last season.

An exclusive rights free agent, Thornton, 25, is a perfect fit for the Eagles' 3-4 defense and will start again in 2014.

(11/17/2013) Eagles offensive lineman Jason Peters (quadriceps, pectoral), defensive back Patrick Chung (shoulder) and defensive lineman Cedric Thornton (knee) are active for Week 11 against the Redskins. Peters was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, and Chung and Thornton were listed as probable.

All seven players should be able to play against the Packers. Chung, Johnson, Peters, Polk and Thornton have been listed on the injury report in recent weeks, but have typically been probable for each game.

All six were ruled as probable on the team's injury report, and should be able to play against Oakland. Peters has been dealing with finger and shoulder injuries, but was able to overcome them this week.
