J.J. Wilcox has chance to 'make a huge difference'

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/5/2013) Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Thursday rookie third-round pick safety J.J. Wilcox has breakout potential in 2013, according to The Dallas Morning News.

"We have a young safety in J.J. Wilcox that I really think has a chance to step up," Jones said. "Obviously it's tragic that he lost his mother and for all the obvious reasons, set him back a little bit. He did the right thing to go spend time with his family and get that situation resolved. But I still think before it's all said and done, he's going to make a huge difference."

Cowboys draft Wilcox

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/26/2013) The Cowboys have taken safety J.J. Wilcox of Georgia Southern with their second of two picks in the third round of the NFL Draft. The Cowboys took the prospect from the Football Championship Subdivision, a tier below the top level of college football, with the 80th overall selection Friday night. Wilcox moved to safety full-time from receiver for his senior season and finished second on the team with 88 tackles. He had two interceptions. He also returned kickoffs. The 5-foot-11, 214-pound Wilcox had 45 catches for 898 yards and four touchdowns in three seasons as a receiver. Dallas has a need at safety after dumping Gerald Sensabaugh in a salary cap move.
