Johnathan Cyprien ready to work this offseason

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(1/31/2014) Jaguars safety Johnathan Cyprien is looking forward to improving in his second year in 2014, reports the Florida Times-Union.

Cyprien will spend the next few months in Miami, "working on my strengths and weaknesses," before returning to the Jacksonville area for the Jaguars' offseason program.

"I'm no longer a rookie; I want to lift my game for the entire team and bring a new energy to the group," he said.

Cyprien felt he improved during the second half of the season. Aside from the one game he missed with a thigh bruise, he played every snap in his 15 games.

"I believe I did – things slowed down and things came to me and I was able to make more plays and be a better contributor to the team," he said. "It was just the growing process. That's very standard because with the learning curve, I had to start from somewhere."
