Jaguars make a few roster moves Tuesday

(12/17/2013) The Jaguars made a few roster moves Tuesday. They placed offensive lineman Will Rackley (concussion) on injured reserve, while elevating offensive lineman Drew Nowak from the practice squad and signing offensive lineman Patrick Lewis off the Browns' practice squad.

(12/15/2013) The Jaguars have listed QB Ricky Stanzi, RB Maurice Jones-Drew, S Johnathan Cyprien, G Will Rackley, WR Cecil Shorts, TE Allen Reisner and DT Brandon Deaderick as inactive Week 15.

Jones-Drew and Cyprien were listed as doubtful heading into the game. Shorts was questionable with a groin injury.

The offensive players among them are wideouts Cecil Shorts (groin) and Mike Brown (shoulder), tight end Marcedes Lewis (knee), tackle Austin Pasztor (shoulder) and guard Will Rackley (elbow).

The defensive players are end Andre Branch (knee), cornerback Mike Harris (hip), linebackers Nate Stupar (chest) and Geno Hayes (knee) and tackle Roy Miller (shoulder).

(11/29/2013) The Jaguars placed 12 players on their Friday injury report, but nine are probable for the game against the Browns on Sunday.

The offensive players so designated are linemen Will Rackley (illness) and Cameron Bradfield (bicep) and wide receiver Cecil Shorts (groin). Running back Justin Forsett (foot) is out.

The defensive probables are cornerback Will Blackmon (shoulder), defensive end Andre Branch (knee), safety Winston Guy (shoulder), linebackers J.T. Thomas (ankle) and Geno Hayes (knee) and tackle Roy Miller (shoulder).

(11/15/2013) Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny has been listed as questionable for the Sunday game against Arizona, but he is closer to returning than two of his teammates that are also going through concussion protocol. Guard Will Rackley is doubtful and Stephen Burton has been ruled out.

An Achilles injury will also keep Jacksonville wideout Stephen Williams inactive in Week 11.

He left before halftime and was ruled out for the game just after the break. He may be suffering from concussion symptoms. The Jaguars have a bye Week 9 for him to get healthy.

Will Rackley trying to be smart about injury

(8/27/2013) Jaguars left guard Will Rackley underwent X-rays Saturday and an MRI Sunday after spraining his ankle during Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles. Luckily, neither test revealed any structural damage, according to The Florida Times-Union.

Rackley, who missed the 2012 season with a broken foot, had a protective boot on Monday while he watched practice.

"We’re taking it week by week but I’m feeling good compared to when it first happened," he said. "I’m personally pretty confident [he can play against Kansas City in Week 1], but I don’t want to do anything stupid and miss more time than I need to."
