(10/26/2014) The Bears have listed LB Lance Briggs, LB Jon Bostic, OL Jordan Mills, S Danny McCray, CB Terrance Mitchell, DB Ahmad Dixon and OL Charles Leno, Jr. as inactive Week 8 against the Patriots. 

The Bears will be without a couple notable defensive players. Both Briggs and Bostic will need more time to recover, leaving the team thin at linebacker. Jordan Mills will also miss the contest, hurting the offensive line.

(10/17/2014) The Bears have ruled linebacker Lance Briggs (ribs) and defensive back Chris Conte (shoulder) out for Week 7 at home against Miami. Linebacker Jon Bostic, who is nursing a back injury, was the only player listed as questionable on the injury report for Chicago.

The following players have been ruled probable for Sunday: Tackle Jermon Bushrod (knee, ankle), safety Ahmad Dixon (hamstring), running back Matt Forte (not injury related), linebacker Shea McClellin (hand), cornerback Sherrick McManis (quadricep, knee), tackle Jordan Mills (foot), defensive tackle Stephen Paea (not injury related) and linebacker D.J. Williams (neck).

(10/12/2014) The Bears have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday's Week 6 matchup with the Falcons: offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod, cornerback Sherrick McManis, safety Ahmad Dixon (hamstring) and linebackers Lance Briggs (ribs), D.J. Williams (neck), Shea McClellin (hand) and Jon Bostic (back).

Williams had been listed as probable and Bostic as questionable on the team's final injury report, but they join Briggs and McClellin on the inactive list to leave the Bears without the team's top four linebackers. Cornerback Sherrick McManis (quad) is active after being listed as questionable, while safety Chris Conte (concussion), center Roberto Garza (ankle) and defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (concussion) are also active after being listed as probable.

(10/10/2014) The Friday injury report issued by the Bears for their Week 6 game at Atlanta is headlined by the thumbs-down given to linebackers Lance Briggs (ribs) and Shea McClellin (hand). But they are not the only Chicago players ruled out.

Also red-lighted are offensive linemen Jermon Bushrod (knee/ankle) and Taylor Boggs (hamstring) and safety Ahmad Dixon (hamstring).

The questionables are linebacker Jonathan Bostic (back) and cornerback Sherrick McManis (quad). Safety Chris Conte (concussion), offensive lineman Roberto Garza (ankle), nose tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (concussion) and linebacker D.J. Williams (neck) are all probable.

(10/5/2014) Bears center Roberto Garza (ankle) has been ruled out for the Sunday game at Carolina. He had been deemed doubtful. The same fate also has befallen cornerback Sherrick McManis (quad). Safety Ahmad Dixon (hamstring), tackle Jermon Bushrod (knee/ankle), linebacker Shea McClellin (hand) and nose tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (concussion) are also inactive.

Their lone healthy scratch is tackle Charles Leno.


Bears rule out four Week 5

Jermon Bushrod, Ahmad Dixon, Shea McClellin and Jeremiah Ratliff will not be able to play. Bushrod practiced Wednesday, but tweaked his knee and will miss the game. All four players were unable to practice Friday. 


Bears DST feasts on Jets' mistakes

(9/23/2014) The Bears DST scored in the first minute of Monday's win at the Jets. Safety Ryan Mundy intercepted Geno Smith's first pass, a screen intended for Chris Johnson, and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown.

Despite suffering multiple injuries on defense, Chicago went on to produce two more turnovers and register three sacks in the victory. Rookie Kyle Fuller picked off a pass in the end zone, his third interception this season, and safety Ahmad Dixon recovered a muffed punt.

The Bears DST will have a tougher time Week 4 when Green Bay visits Soldier Field.

(9/7/2014) The Bears are expected to sign safety Ahmad Dixon off the Vikings' practice squad this week, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Dixon was selected in the seventh round by the Cowboys in his year's draft but didn't survive the team's final roster cuts. He's been on the Vikings practice squad for the last four days.

(8/16/2014) Cowboys safety Ahmad Dixon said he didn't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Ravens because he was late to the walkthrough, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Dixon left the team's first preseason game with a concussion, but he appears to be past the injury. He's competing to make the team after being selected in the seventh round in this year's draft.

(8/8/2014) Cowboys rookie defensive back Ahmad Dixon played with the first-team defense at times in his preseason debut Thursday against the Chargers, before leaving with a concussion.

Dixon saw the field with the first-team nickel defense and ended up leading the team with 11 tackles. He suffered a concussion while making one of his tackles according to ESPN.com, and will have to be cleared before he can return to action.

Dixon was a seventh-round pick out of Baylor this year, and could see plenty of playing time when the season starts, since the team has little depth in the defensive backfield.
