Dwayne Gratz, Luke Joeckel cleared for Week 9

(11/2/2014) Jaguars cornerback Dwayne Gratz (groin) and left tackle Luke Joeckel (concussion) are active for Sunday's game in Cincinnati after being listed as probable. Gratz has 23 tackles in seven games this season. Joeckel suffered the concussion Week 8 against Miami while blocking on a field-goal try.

(10/31/2014) Jaguars coach Gus Bradley told reporters he'd be "shocked" if left tackle Luke Joeckel (concussion) doesn't play Week 9 at Cincinnati. Joeckel returned to practice and was ruled probable for the game, along with cornerback Dwayne Gratz (groin) and wide receivers Cecil Shorts (groin) and Allen Hurns (ankle). Linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring) was the only player ruled questionable on the list.

Defensive lineman Andre Branch (groin) and defensive back Will Blackmon (finger) were both ruled out.

(10/30/2014) Jaguars left tackle Luke Joeckel (concussion), who was cleared for individual drills Thursday, said he anticipates playing Week 9 against the Bengals, according to The Florida Times-Union.

"That’s the plan," he said. "I have to go through the protocol, but I anticipate being back.”

Joeckel said he suffered his first-ever concussion Week 8 against the Dolphins when he got a "knee or thigh" to the top of his head during a field-goal attempt. 

"I don’t remember much after that. My vision was definitely screwed up," he said.

(10/29/2014) Jaguars left tackle Luke Joeckel cleared part of the NFL concussion protocol and can return to non-contact drills in practice Thursday, according to ESPN. There remains hope Joeckel could play Week 9 against the Bengals.

(10/26/2014) Jaguars offensive lineman Luke Joeckel was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Dolphins in Week 8 due to a concussion. Joeckel sustained the injury in the opening period and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

He'll likely need to pass the league's concussion protocol before he can return to action. The Jaguars will face Cincinnati in Week 9.

(10/7/2013) Jaguars rookie left tackle Luke Joeckel, whose season came to an end Sunday at St. Louis after suffering a fractured right ankle, said Monday surgery hasn't been scheduled, but it's "probable" once the swelling goes down.

"It won’t affect my 2014 [season] at all," he said, per The Florida Times-Union. "We’re going to knock this out and take care of it. I’m going to attack the rehab."

(10/6/2013) Jaguars rookie tackle Luke Joeckel had his right leg rolled up on and had to leave Sunday's Week 5 game at St. Louis Sunday. Joeckel was down on the field for several minutes before trainers helped him up and placed him on a cart to leave the field. It did not appear as if he would be able to return in the game. 

The tackle has been diagnosed with a right ankle injury, the team's official site reports. He will undergo X-rays.

(10/2/2013) With the trade of left tackle Eugene Monroe to Baltimore, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley announced Wednesday rookie first-round pick Luke Joeckel will move from right tackle to left tackle. Austin Pasztor will start at right tackle Week 5 at St. Louis, but Cameron Bradfield will compete for playing time as well.

Joeckel is expected to begin his career as the team's starting right tackle before eventually moving over to the left side.
