49ers DST dominates for third straight week

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/13/2013) The 49ers DST forced four turnovers for a second straight week and posted its third consecutive dominant performance in the Week 6 win over Arizona. San Francisco's defense also scored for the second straight week, this time on a safety by rookie linebacker Corey Lemonier.

Safety Eric Reid had an interception and a fumble recovery. Corner Carlos Rogers picked off Carson Palmer, too, and linebacker NaVorro Bowman recovered a fumble.

San Francisco gave up 403 total yards and allowed 5.2 yards per carry, but compensated with a slew of big plays. The 49ers DST has a good chance to stay  hot in Week 7 at Tennessee.

49ers issue Week 2 inactives

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/15/2013) The 49ers listed running back LaMichael James, wide receiver Chris Harper, quarterback B.J. Daniels, guard Joe Looney, defensive tackle Tony Jerod-Eddie, linebacker Corey Lemonier and linebacker Nathan Stupar all inactive. James was the only player held out due to injury (knee).

Lemonier heads to San Francisco

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/26/2013) The 49ers selected Auburn defensive end Corey Lemonier with the 88th pick in the NFL draft, moving up five spots after their second deal of the day with the NFC rival Green Bay Packers. This selection further upgrades San Francisco's pass rush as they looked to fill voids on the defensive line. Lemonier, who skipped his senior season to enter the draft, had 5.5 sacks last season after earning coaches' first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors with 9.5 sacks as a sophomore. The 6-foot-4, 246-pound Lemonier played in 34 career games, making 24 starts. He finished his Auburn career with 98 tackles, 17 sacks, 24 tackles for loss and 33 quarterback hurries.
