(9/1/2013) The Redskins signed eight players to their practice squad: offensive linemen Xavier Nixon and Tevita Stevens, wideouts Lance Lewis and Nick Williams, linebacker Will Compton, defensive lineman Dominique Hamilton, running back Jawan Jamison and cornerback Chase Minnifield.

Tony Pashos, Keiland Williams among those waived by Washington

(8/31/2013) The Redskins have announced 15 cuts, including one-time NFL starting offensive tackle Tony Pashos and backup running back Keiland Williams.

The other cuts are as follows: running back Jawan Jamison, wide receivers Skye Dawson, Nick Williams and Lance Lewis, tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi, offensive linemen Tevita Stevens and Xavier Nixon, defensive linemen Chigbo Anunoby, Dominique Hamilton and Ron Brace, linebacker Vic So'oto, cornerback Chase Minnifield and safety Dejon Gomes.

Minnifield is the son of former Browns Pro Bowl cornerback Frank Minnifield. The younger Minnifield was projected as a middle-round pick out of Virginia in 2012, but went undrafted before signing with Washington.


Roy Helu in lead for No. 2 spot

(7/26/2013) Redskins running back Roy Helu appears in the lead for the No. 2 job behind starter Alfred Morris, reports the Washington Post.

The report says the order for the running backs behind Morris are in this order: Helu, Evan Royster, Keiland Williams, Tristan Davis, Chris Thompson, Jawan Jamison. Morris is the unquestioned starter, and the rest are all battling for that backup/third-down back role.
