Seahawks backup receivers get some action Week 14

(12/7/2014) The Seahawks backup receivers managed to get some work Week 14 against the Eagles.

Jermaine Kearse finished second on the team in receiving, gaining 37 yards on three catches. Paul Richardson had two receptions, picking up 27 yards. Kevin Norwood also had two catches. He finished with 22 yards. Ricardo Lockette hauled in one pass, gaining 19 yards. Tight end Tony Moeaki caught one pass, picking up 15 yards. Fullback Will Tukuafu also had one catch, gaining 4 yards. Luke Willson gained one yard on his only reception.

The group will look for more Week 15 against the 49ers. 


Seahawks to go with Will Tukuafu at fullback

(10/31/2014) The Seahawks will insert fullback Will Tukuafu into the starting lineup, according to the Associated Press. 

Will Tukuafu signed with the club Wednesday, and will replace Derrick Coleman. Coleman began the year as the team's primary option, but was placed on the IR Saturday. Robert Turbin had served as the team's temporary option at the position with Coleman out, but will assume his normal role as backup running back with Tukuafu in tow.

(8/30/2014) The 49ers made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Among those moves was the placement of cornerback Kenneth Acker and fullback Will Tukuafu on the injured reserve list.

San Francisco cut the following players: T Carter Bykowski, TE Asante Cleveland, WR Lance Lewis, LS Kevin McDermott, CB Darryl Morris, G Al Netter, DL Lawrence Okoye, WR Kassim Osgood, T Michael Philipp, NT Mike Purcell, G Ryan Seymour, LB Shayne Skov, RB Alfonso Smith, G Adam Snyder, S C.J. (8/24/2014) 49ers fullback Will Tukuafu was forced out of Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers with a head injury. He sustained the injury in the second half and was taken to the locker to be evaluated for a a concussion.

(1/19/2014) The 49ers listed the following players as active for Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Seahawks in Seattle, despite being on the injury report: linebacker NaVorro Bowman (wrist), linebacker Ahmad Brooks (illness), wide receiver Michael Crabtree (wrist), defensive lineman Demarcus Dobbs  (knee, shoulder), running back Frank Gore (knee), defensive back Carlos Rogers (hamstring), linebacker Dan Skuta (foot), defensive lineman Justin Smith (shoulder) and defensive lineman Will Tukuafu (knee).

49ers defense in good shape for championship game

(1/17/2014) The 49ers defense should be at something close to full strength for the NFC Championship game against the Seahawks Sunday, as only two players are considered to be in doubt base on the injury report. Defensive lineman Will Tukuafu  (knee) and defensive back Carlos Rogers (hamstring) are both questionable for Sunday's game after being limited at times during the week in practice.

The remainder of the team's injury report is made up of players who are expected to play through their maladies. Defensive linemen Justin Smith (shoulder) and Demarcus Dobbs (knee, shoulder), linebackers NaVorro Bowman (wrist), Dan Skuta (foot) and Ahmad Brooks (illness) are all probable for the game.

Tukuafu had an MRI Monday. The MRI revealed that the injury wasn't as bad as the team initially thought. There's no timetable for his injury, and the team is unsure whether he'll play Sunday.

Patton caught one pass for 23 yards. It was his only target of the game. Tukuafu picked up 2 yards, but left the game due to an injury. They'll take on Seattle next week.

Tukuafu was injured after catching a pass. The play initially looked bad, but he was able to limp off the field. He was initially ruled questionable, but the team ruled him out after re-evaluating him.
