Four receivers for one spot in Detroit?

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/17/2014) The Lions official team website believes four receivers will compete for one roster spot in camp this summer. Kevin Ogletree, Kris Durham, rookie T.J. Jones and second-year wideout Corey Fuller are considered "leading candidates" for the job. Ogletree and Durham lead the way in terms of experience but Fuller and Jones are younger and might have more explosiveness to contribute.

Lions talking up Corey Fuller

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/26/2014) Everyone knows the Lions are in the market for receivers to help out Calvin Johnson. They might have one on their roster who could surprise, according to general manager Martin Mayhew.

Corey Fuller, last year's sixth-round pick, spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad. He ran track at Virginia Tech and is a big target at 6-2, 204 pounds. “He’s really improved since we’ve had him,” Mayhew told the Detroit Free Press.

“His big thing is going to be a need to get stronger in the weight room. I think he’s worked very hard at that, and I think another year in the offseason program is really going to benefit him quite a bit. So I’m looking forward to seeing him.”

Lions sign 10 to reserve/futures contracts

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12/31/2013) The Lions signed receivers Pat Edwards, Corey Fuller, Carlin Isles and Cody Wilson, running back Steven Miller, linebacker Jon Morgan, kickers John Potter and Giorgio Tavecchio, and defensive tackles Xavier Proctor and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen to reserve/futures contracts.

Chris Greenwood, Corey Fuller among Lions cuts

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/31/2013) The Lions have waived cornerback Chris Greenwood and wide receiver Corey Fuller, the Detroit Free Press is reporting. Both were low-round draft picks selected by the team in the last two years.

The injury plagued Greenwood played in just two games this preseason and was burned deep for a touchdown Thursday against the Bills. Fuller caught just one pass for six yards in the preseason. Both could be added to the practice squad if they clear waivers.

The Lions also cut linebacker Jon Morgan and offensive linemen Darren Keyton and Kevin Haslam. They have waived/injured safety Martavius Neloms (foot).

Stafford calls Fuller 'exciting'

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/23/2013) It's only one OTA practice but Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has noticed rookie receiver Corey Fuller. "He’s got some speed, you know," Stafford told the official team website. "He went up and made a nice catch (Tuesday) on a high ball. He showed some athleticism there. I haven't worked with him a whole lot, but he’s got size, he’s got speed and pretty good hands. He’s an exciting prospect."
