Lions get contributions from several role players Week 12

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/23/2014) The Lions received minor contributions from several role players in a 34-9 loss to New England on Sunday.

With Reggie Bush sidelined with an ankle injury, Theo Riddick worked as the team's No. 2 running back. He was limited to two carries for 12 yards and caught three passes for 40 yards.

Jeremy Ross nearly scored his third career touchdown, but saw a Matt Stafford pass bounce right off his fingers. He caught three of five targets for 35 yards. Eric Ebron also had some crucial drops and finished with only two catches for 23 yards. Corey Fuller saw two of Stafford's passes go through his hands in the end zone. He was limited to only one grab for 13 yards.

Fuller came down with a 16-yard grab in the third quarter and a 13-yard catch in the fourth. He finished with three catches for 43 yards on six targets. Ross caught all three of his targets for 31 yards. Broyles caught a 4-yard pass in the third quarter. He was targeted twice in a 22-21 victory.

Young Lions WR Corey Fuller gets kudos from Caldwell

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/24/2014) Lions second-year wideout Corey Fuller, who has emerged since star Calvin Johnson lost time to an ankle injury, has earned the praise of Jim Caldwell.

Fuller has eight receptions for 83 yards in the last three games, including two key snags in the fourth quarter of the Week 7 win over New Orleans. He snagged the game-winning touchdown.

"He's just barely scratching the surface," Caldwell told MLive.com. "He's long, he can run, he's smart, he's tough and obviously you can see he can go up and make plays for you as well. I think you're just going to see him get better."

Corey Fuller's first career touchdown is a big one

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/19/2014) Lions second-year wideout Corey Fuller snared his first career touchdown Week 7 against the Saints. The 5-yard score with 1:48 remaining gave the Lions a dramatic 24-23 win.

Fuller caught three of five targets for 44 yards, giving him nine catches for 135 yards this season. He'll play the Falcons in London in Week 8.

Lions' backup pass catchers don't contribute much Week 6

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/12/2014) The Lions backup pass catchers didn't do much Week 6.

Tight end Eric Ebron hauled in two catches for 23 yards. Corey Fuller also pulled in two balls, picking up 12 yards. Jeremy Ross had one reception for 8 yards. They'll take on the Saints Week 7.

Lions backup receivers do little Week 3

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) The Lions backup pass catchers did little Week 3 against the Packers.

Corey Fuller made the biggest impact, catching a 52 yard pass from Matthew Stafford. Fuller finished second on the team in yards due to the play. Tight end Joseph Fauria picked up 3 yards on one catch.

They'll take on the Jets Week 4.

Four receivers for one spot in Detroit?

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/17/2014) The Lions official team website believes four receivers will compete for one roster spot in camp this summer. Kevin Ogletree, Kris Durham, rookie T.J. Jones and second-year wideout Corey Fuller are considered "leading candidates" for the job. Ogletree and Durham lead the way in terms of experience but Fuller and Jones are younger and might have more explosiveness to contribute.

Lions talking up Corey Fuller

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/26/2014) Everyone knows the Lions are in the market for receivers to help out Calvin Johnson. They might have one on their roster who could surprise, according to general manager Martin Mayhew.

Corey Fuller, last year's sixth-round pick, spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad. He ran track at Virginia Tech and is a big target at 6-2, 204 pounds. “He’s really improved since we’ve had him,” Mayhew told the Detroit Free Press.

“His big thing is going to be a need to get stronger in the weight room. I think he’s worked very hard at that, and I think another year in the offseason program is really going to benefit him quite a bit. So I’m looking forward to seeing him.”

Lions sign 10 to reserve/futures contracts

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12/31/2013) The Lions signed receivers Pat Edwards, Corey Fuller, Carlin Isles and Cody Wilson, running back Steven Miller, linebacker Jon Morgan, kickers John Potter and Giorgio Tavecchio, and defensive tackles Xavier Proctor and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen to reserve/futures contracts.

Chris Greenwood, Corey Fuller among Lions cuts

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/31/2013) The Lions have waived cornerback Chris Greenwood and wide receiver Corey Fuller, the Detroit Free Press is reporting. Both were low-round draft picks selected by the team in the last two years.

The injury plagued Greenwood played in just two games this preseason and was burned deep for a touchdown Thursday against the Bills. Fuller caught just one pass for six yards in the preseason. Both could be added to the practice squad if they clear waivers.

The Lions also cut linebacker Jon Morgan and offensive linemen Darren Keyton and Kevin Haslam. They have waived/injured safety Martavius Neloms (foot).

Stafford calls Fuller 'exciting'

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/23/2013) It's only one OTA practice but Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has noticed rookie receiver Corey Fuller. "He’s got some speed, you know," Stafford told the official team website. "He went up and made a nice catch (Tuesday) on a high ball. He showed some athleticism there. I haven't worked with him a whole lot, but he’s got size, he’s got speed and pretty good hands. He’s an exciting prospect."
