Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah on a roll

(12/2/2014) Lions second-year defensive end Ezekiel Ansah recorded a whopping 12 quarteback pressures in the Week 13 win over the Bears, notes MLive.com. For the season he has a combined 49 QB hurries, hits and sacks, which ranks fifth among defensive ends.

"He is some kind of player, and he's developing by leaps and bounds," coach Jim Caldwell told the website.

Ansah has 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles to go with 40 tackles. He'll face the Buccaneers on Sunday.


Reggie Bush is listed as questionable again on Lions' injury report

(11/26/2014) The Lions released their Week 13 injury report Wednesday, and announced they will play Thursday against the Bears without defensive tackle Nick Fairley (knee) and guard Larry Warford.

Running back Reggie Bush (ankle, back) is listed as questionable for a third straight week. However, he told reporters he expects to play, according to MLive.com. Bush also said the same thing leading up to Week 12 before sitting out.

Tackle Riley Reiff (knee) is also listed as questionable, while Ezekiel Ansah (elbow), safety James Ihedigbo (knee), wide receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle), defensive end George Johnson (foot), cornerback Rashean Mathis (ankle) and safety Glover Quin (back) are all listed as probable.

(11/7/2014) The Lions have ruled Nick Fairley (knee) out for Sunday's game against Miami. Eric Ebron (hamstring) was ruled doubtful, while Joseph Fauria (ankle) and Brandon Pettigrew (foot) were both ruled questionable.

Meanwhile, Ezekiel Ansah (toe), Reggie Bush (ankle), Calvin Johnson (ankle), George Johnson (hamstring) and LaAdrian Waddle (concussion) were each labeled probable.

(11/6/2014) Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (toe) and tight ends Brandon Pettigrew (foot) and Eric Ebron (hamstring) have been upgraded from did not practice Wednesday to limited in Thursday session.

Ebron missed the last two games while Pettigrew was sidelined in Week 9. Ansah has been active throughout.

Ruled out are tight ends Joseph Fauria (ankle) and Eric Ebron (hamstring). Running back Reggie Bush (ankle) and tight end Brandon Pettigrew (foot) are doubtul. Star wideout Calvin Johnson (ankle) and tackle LaAdrian Waddle (concussion) are questionable while defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (toe) and running back Theo Riddick (hamstring) are probable.

Lions expected to be without TEs Fauria, Ebron in Week 7

(10/17/2014) Besides Calvin Johnson, the Lions may be without their top two pass-catching tight ends heading into Week 7 at home against the Saints.

Joseph Fauria was unable to practice and was ruled out for Sunday. Eric Ebron, who was limited participant on Wednesday, was unable to return to the practice field Thursday and Friday. As a result, he was labeled doubtful for the game. Theo Riddick (hamstring) and Travis Lewis (quadriceps) missed practice the entire week. Riddick is doubtful, while Lewis was ruled out for Week 7.

Johnson was not a participant in practice the entire week and could be sidelined until Week 10. He was officially questionable on the injury report. Reggie Bush (ankle), Jeremy Ross (ankle) and Ezekiel Ansah (toe) were all listed as probable for Sunday.


DE Ezekiel Ansah helping Lions lead league in sacks

(10/15/2014) Lions second-year defensive end Ezekiel Ansah posted career highs in sacks (2.5) and tackles for loss (4) in the Week 6 win at Minnesota. It was his fourth career game with two or more sacks.

Ansah also recorded five tackles and forced a fumble.

The Lions lead the NFL with 20 sacks and allow a league-low 270.7 yards per game. They visit the Saints on Sunday.

(9/26/2014) The questionable tag for premier wide receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle) highlights a lengthy injury report issued Friday by the Lions.

Those ruled out are tight end Joseph Fauria (ankle), linebacker Travis Lewis (quad) and cornerback Cassius Vaughn (ankle). Safety Don Carey (hamstring) and tackle LaAdrian Waddle (calf) are doubtful.

Fullback Montell Owens (hamstring) is the lone questionable. The probables are defensive ends Ezekiel Ansah (knee) and George Johnson (groin), running backs Joique Bell (knee) and Theo Riddick (hamstring), defensive tackle Nick Fairley (biceps) and safety James Ihedigbo (neck).

Ezekiel Ansah, Nick Fairley and George Johnson may have entered the week as questionable, but all three are active. The team will also have Joique Bell and Don Carey. Bell and Carey were listed as probable, so that shouldn't come as a surprise.

Linebacker Travis Lewis (quadriceps) and defensive back Cassius Vaughn (ankle) have been ruled out for Sunday's game, while safety James Ihedigbo (neck) is doubtful and seems likely to miss the game.

(8/18/2014) Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, who missed the first two weeks of camp while recovering from a shoulder injury, might not play in Friday's preseason game against the Jaguars, reports the Detroit Free Press.

"Even though he's off of PUP, we're still going to bring him along just according to what he can handle from a physical standpoint," coach Jim Caldwell said. "So we'll get a sense of that. He's doing a little bit more today in practice and going to do a little bit more tomorrow, and then we'll see what happens come game day."

Ezekiel Ansah looking good upon return from injury

(8/15/2014) Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah has looked sharp in training camp after missing the first 15 days on the PUP list, according to the Detroit Free Press. He had been sidelined as part of his recovery from a shoulder injury sustained in December.

Ansah is set to sit Friday night against Oakland, which merely whets the appetite of fellow Detroit lineman C.J. Mosley.

"I'm really anxious for our boy Ziggy to get out there," Mosley said. "He looks awesome."

Mosley might not have to wait too long. Jim Caldwell has said he wants to see Ansah in game action before the Sept. 8 season opener against the Giants.

Delmas has been on the injury report for weeks due to a knee injury. As usual, he took off Friday's practice. Delmas has played despite missing practice on Friday for multiple weeks now. Ansah was limited in practice each day this week.
