David contributes rare sack

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David didn't contribute his usual high number of tackles Week 17 at Atlanta, finishing with six (including five solo), but he did record his second sack of the season.
Analysis: David finishes his rookie season with 139 tackles, which is a final total for any player, regardless of his experience. Because he has established himself as one of the elite tacklers in the game, he'll be one of the top linebackers drafted in Fantasy IDP leagues next year.

David leads way in tackles

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, who was listed as probable on Friday's injury report because of a knee injury, not only played Week 16 against the Rams, but he also led the team with nine tackles, all solo. He has recorded nine tackles or more in six of his last eight games, averaging 10.3 tackles during that stretch.
Analysis: David has emerged as one of the game's elite tacklers this season and is more or less a must-start option in Fantasy IDP leagues as a result. Obviously, you should keep him active.

David good to go for Buccaneers

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, who was listed as probable on Friday's injury report because of a knee issue, is active for Week 16 against the Rams. The injury didn't limit him in practice at any point leading up to the game.
Analysis: David was never really in jeopardy of missing this game, so most likely you didn't even toy with the idea of sitting him in Fantasy IDP leagues. A reliable source of tackles all season, David should be starting pretty much across the board.

David probable for Week 16

News: Tampa Bay linebacker Lavonte David is considered probable for Week 16 against St. Louis due to a minor knee issue. David, who leads the team with 124 tackles, was a full participant in practice throughout the past week and is not expected to miss any playing time.
Analysis: David continues to wreck havoc on opposing running backs at the line of scrimmage and has recorded 18 stuffs during his rookie campaign. That has led to a staggering 124 tackles through 14 games, and consideration as a high-end Fantasy option in all formats when active.

David has nine tackles, sack

News: Bucs linebacker Lavonte David had nine tackles and a sack in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: David, a rookie out of Nebraska, now has 117 tackles on the season, along with an interception. He's been a star in IDP leagues and should be started in most formats. Tampa Bay faces New Orleans in Week 15.

David a goliath in Week 13

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David finished with a game-high 10 tackles, including three stops for a loss, during Tampa Bay's 31-23 loss at Denver in Week 13. David also picked off his first pass of his rookie campaign, the only turnover the Bucs forced in Sunday's game.
Analysis: David has shined during his first season out of Nebraska, especially lately and posted double-digits in tackles in three of his past five games. He is now second among all rookies with 108 tackles on the season, behind only Carolina's Luke Kuechly (114). Fantasy owners should keep him rolling as a high-end option in all IDP formats.

David nearing 100 tackles

News: Tampa Bay linebacker Lavonte David racked up eight tackles in the Week 12 loss to the Falcons Sunday. David finished the game with seven solo stops and now has 98 tackles on the year for the Bucs.
Analysis: David is closing in on 100 tackles in his rookie season out of Nebraska. The first-year player has never had fewer than two tackles in a game this year so he seems a good shot to get to the plateau his next time out. David has been a steady source of tackles all year for the Bucs and should be active in plenty of Fantasy IDP formats.

Analysis: David, a rookie out of Nebraska, now has 90 tackles on the season. He was tantalizingly close to a third consecutive game with double digit tackles and he now has 39 over his last three games. The Bucs face the Falcons in Week 12, and David should be started in all IDP formats.

Another 14 total tackles for David

News: Bucs rookie linebacker Lavonte David is rapidly approaching must-start status after racking up 14 total tackles vs. San Diego in Week 10.
Analysis: David has 97 total tackles on the season already and should only stay solid as a Fantasy linebacker. We like him to keep up the production against the Panthers in Week 11.

David leads the way for T.B.

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David led his team in tackles in Week 9 against the Raiders. He finished with 16 total (14 solo) including two for a loss in the 42-32 win.
Analysis: David has put together an impressive rookie campaign as he has 67 tackles through eight games. While he has yet to pick off a pass or record a sack, the 22-year-old remains a viable option in deeper IDP formats heading into Week 10 against the Chargers.

David racking up the tackles

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David was all over the field in Week 7 against the Saints. David finished eight tackles -- six solo -- in the 35-28 defeat and was also credited with a pair of tackles for loss. He has now finished with at least eight tackles in three of his last four contests.
Analysis: David continues to make an impact during his rookie season and his 49 stops on the year now leads the club. While he has yet to force or come down with a sack or turnover, owners looking for a cheap source for tackles may want consider scooping up David moving forward.

David has eight tackles

News: Bucs linebacker Lavonte David recorded eight tackles (six solo) in Week 6 against the Chiefs.
Analysis: David now has 41 total tackles though five games. A rookie out of Nebraska, David is on pace for 130 tackles and is worth a spot in deeper IDP leagues. The Bucs host the Saints in Week 7.

David performing well early in career

News: Bucs linebacker Lavonte David totaled eight tackles (seven solo) Week 2 against the Giants. Two of his tackles went for losses.
Analysis: David has been solid through his first two NFL games. He has tacked up 14 tackles (11 solo) in his first two starts at weakside linebacker. David is worth using as a low-end option in IDP formats and could gain more value if he continues to play at his current pace.

David leads the way

News: Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David finished with a team-high six tackles in Week 1 against the Panthers. Four of his six tackles were solo jobs but he did not record a turnover or register a sack in the 16-10 win.
Analysis: David was all over the field Sunday and will be counted on to help revive a Tampa Bay defense, which was putrid at times last year. While the rookie will be on a bit of a learning curve, owners should find his name at the top of the tackle chart each week. Continue to view the 22-year-old as a viable low-end option with upside moving forward.

Barron headlines Bucs' draft

News: The Buccaneers added more quality talent to their defense in the NFL draft, selecting Alabama strong safety Mark Barron with their first pick. They backed him up with Nebraska linebacker Lavonte David, West Virginia linebacker Najee Goode and West Virginia cornerback Keith Tandy. And in the days following the draft it was learned that the Bucs are likely to move Ronde Barber to safety.
Analysis: There's a lot to like here for Fantasy. Barron, David and Goode should all be contributors for the Bucs, though at different times. This year, Barron and David should see the field a lot. Barron is worth a middle- to late-round pick in seasonal drafts and dynasty/keeper leagues and is a solid second-round pick in rookie-only drafts. David isn't quite as valuable: Take him late in seasonal leagues and dynasty/keeper leagues with a mid-to-late pick in rookie-only formats. Goode is worth holding on to for a while, so pick him up late in dynasty/keeper leagues and rookie drafts. Tandy isn't expected to be productive enough to use in Fantasy.
