Amini Silatolu should be ready for OTAs

(2/11/2014) Panthers starting left guard Amini Silatolu, who tore his ACL in Week 4 last season, should be "ready to roll" when the offseason program begins in April, reports the team's website. The return of the 6-4, 311-pounder would be a big boost to Cam Newton and the entire offense.

Silatolu was a second-round pick in 2012.

(10/13/2013) The Panthers inactive list for Week 6 against the Vikings is weighed down by the presence of four injured players. Running back Kenjon Barner, defensive backs Robert Lester and D.J. Moore, and defensive lineman Dwan Edwards were all unable to play in Sunday's game.

Joining them among the inactives are wide receiver Marvin McNutt, defensive back Josh Norman and guard Amini Silatolu

Silatolu suffered the injury in the third quarter and was taken to the locker room for further exams. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The remainder of their injury report includes six palyers who are listed as probable and are expected to play through their injuries. They include: linebacker Jon Beason (knee); defensive lineman Dwan Edwards (thigh); defensive back Mike Mitchell (calf); tight end Ben Hartsock (foot); wide receiver Domenik Hixon (hamstring); and guard Amini Silatolu (hamstring).

Amini Silatolu 'more than likely' to miss opener

(8/27/2013) Panthers coach Ron Rivera said signing offensive lineman Travelle Wharton was made because Amini Silatolu is "more than likely" going to miss the season opener against the Seahawks with a strained hamstring. Rivera said Silatolu's role will be determined when he returns to full strength.

"We're going to judge things based on how things play out over the next couple weeks," Rivera said, per NFL.com. "I haven't seen him (play right guard). He's a left guard, and we'll go from there."
