News: The San Jose Mercury News reported Thursday that the 49er's have cut defensive back Curtis Holcomb, the team's seventh-round pick in 2011.
Analysis: Holcomb missed all of his rookie season with an Achilles tear suffered in training camp, and now he will have to fight just to make another roster. He has no Fantasy value in any formats.
News: The 49ers have placed seventh-round pick CB Curtis Holcomb and undrafted rookie WR Dontavia Bogan on the injured reserve list, ending their seasons. Holcomb ruptured his Achilles tendon on the eve of training camp during a conditioning test and Bogan tore his ACL on the second day of camp.
Analysis: Holcomb wasn't guaranteed a roster spot, so he was hardly a blip on the Fantasy radar. Continue to ignore him.
News: After taking LB Aldon Smith in Round 1 of April's draft, the 49ers drafted three more defensive players: South Carolina CB Chris Culliver (Round 3), TCU safety Colin Jones (Round 6) and Florida A&M CB Curtis Holcomb (Round 7).
Analysis: Culliver, Jones and Holcomb will battle for spots along the depth chart in the secondary and play on special teams, but that's about all that is expected of them. Keep all three guys off of Fantasy rosters for now.
