Mistral Raymond clears waivers

(8/26/2014) Vikings safety Mistral Raymond has cleared waivers and reverted to the injured reserve, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. The safety suffered a concussion in the preseason opener.

(8/25/2014) The Vikings released safety Brandan Bishop, offensive tackles Kevin Murphy and Pierce Burton, defensive ends Jake Snyder and Tyler Scott, defensive tackle Kheeston Randall, receivers Kamar Jorden, Erik Lora and Andy Cruse, and cornerbacks Derek Cox and Robert Steeples.

Minnesota also waived/injured safety Mistral Raymond, who suffered a concussion in the preseason opener.

(8/8/2014) Vikings defensive back Mistral Raymond was forced out of Friday's preseason opener against the Raiders in the first half with a possible concussion, the team announced. Raymond left the game in the final minute of the first quarter and was held out as a precaution. He will be further evaluated in the near future.

Those five players listed as active are as follows: DB Mistral Raymond (shoulder); LB Erin Henderson (heel); S Harrison Smith (shoulder); and DTs Kevin Williams (knee) and Fred Evans (shoulder).

In addition, linebacker Erin Henderson (heel), safety Harrison Smith (shoulder) and defensive tackles Kevin Williams (knee) and Fred Evans (shoulder) were all limited in Friday's practice. (9/6/2013) The Vikings enter Week 1 with a pretty hefty list of injured players, though they are expected to have the majority of them available for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Of the 10 players listed on the injury report Friday, only defensive lineman Kevin Williams is expected to miss the game. The remainder are listed as probable despite their various injuries, as follows: quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson (illness); defensive backs Chris Cook (groin), Harrison Smith (back) and Mistral Raymond (shoulder); linebackers Larry Dean (shoulder) and Erin Henderson (heel); defensive linemen Sharrif Floyd (knee) and Letroy Guion (finger); wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (back); and tackle Phil Loadholt (knee).

Raymond picks off Washington pass


(12/24/2011) Minnesota DB Mistral Raymond came up with the big interception on Saturday of Week 16 at Washington. The Vikings had not intercepted a pass in 10 games before Raymond picked off QB Rex Grossman. Raymond finished with six tackles in the game and two passes defended.
