Texans injuries not an issue on defense

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/13/2013) The Texans injury report for Week 6 was a lengthy one, but there does not appear to be much of an issue as the inactives are released prior to Sunday's game against the Rams. Of the eight players from the defensive side of the ball listed on the injury report who were not ruled out Friday, all will play Sunday.

The players suiting up in spite of injury are: linebackers Bryan Braman (knee, neck), Brian Cushing (knee), and Darryl Sharpton (foot); defensive linemen J.J. Watt(nose) and Antonio Smith (quadriceps); and defensive backs Ed Reed (knee), Eddie Pleasant(ankle) and Brice McCain (knee).

Texans largely in good shape on defense

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/11/2013) The Texans have nine players on the defensive side of the ball listed on the injury report for Week 6 against the Rams, but only one is expected to be limited Sunday.

The other eight players, all listed as probable for Sunday's game, are as follows: linebackers Bryan Braman (knee, neck), Brian Cushing (knee), and Darryl Sharpton (foot); defensive linemen J.J. Watt (nose) and Antonio Smith (quadriceps); and defensive backs Ed Reed (knee), Eddie Pleasant (ankle) and Brice McCain (knee).

Texans' key defenders will play against 49ers

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/6/2013) Several key Houston defenders are active against the 49ers after being listed as probable. They include defensive end J.J. Watt (groin, nose), safety Ed Reed (hip, abdomen), linebacker Brian Cushing (concussion), cornerback Johnathan Joseph (undisclosed), linebacker Bryan Braman (hamstring, shoulder), cornerback Brice McCain (knee), linebacker Darryl Sharpton (foot, hip) and safety Eddie Pleasant (hamstring).

Texans mostly healthy on defense

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/4/2013) The Texans lengthy injury list for Week 5 against the 49ers belies the fact that the team is largely healthy heading into Sunday's game. For instance, of the eight players on the defensive side of the ball listed on the injury report, all but one are considered probable.

The eight players expected to play through injuries in Week 5 are: defensive end J.J. Watt (groin, nose); defensive backs Ed Reed (hip, abdomen), Eddie Pleasant (hamstring), Johnathan Joseph (not-injury-related) and Brice McCain (knee); and linebackers Bryan Braman (hamstring, shoulder) and Brian Cushing (concussion).
