News: Notable players cut by the Rams Friday include: DT Cornell Banks; QB Tom Brandstater; DE Mason Brodine; LB Aaron Brown; LB Sammy Brown; DB Kendric Burney; QB Kellen Clemens; DE Vernon Gholston; TE Ben Guidugli; TE Cory Harkey; DE Jamaar Jarrett; WR Nick Johnson; FB Ovie Mughelli; TE Deangelo Peterson; RB Chase Reynolds and DE Scott Smith.

Analysis: Despite the pair of quarterbacks not making the cut, no one listed is worth considering for Fantasy use. Leave them all off rosters.

News: The Oakland Raiders made their first round of cuts Monday and released the following players: linebacker Korey Bosworth; defensive lineman Mason Brodine; defensive back Aaron Henry; defensive lineman Wayne Dorsey; defensive back Chaz Powell; defensive back Terrail Lambert; wide receiver Thomas Mayo; wide receiver Dre Muhammad; quarterback Kyle Newhall-Caballero; running back Manase Tonga; and running back Rashawn Jackson.

Analysis: None of these players were expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left off all rosters at this point.

Mason Brodine, DE, STL

Brodine added to roster

News: Oakland signed DL Mason Brodine to the active roster on Saturday after placing DB Chris Johnson on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list.

Analysis: Brodine was released prior to the start of the season as he was not expected to be a major Fantasy contributor. He is still unlikely to have much of an impact and should be ignored for the remainder of the season in all Fantasy formats.

Edwards among players cut

News: The Raiders made the necessary cuts to get down the the required 53 players on Saturday. Among the released were QB Trent Edwards, WR Shaun Bodiford, S Matt Giordano, CB Lito Sheppard, LB Sam Williams, WR Shawn Bayes, CB Jeremy Ware, TE Kevin Brock, DE Mason Brodine, DB Stevie Brown, DT Jamie Cumbie, LB Chris Francis, LB Bani Gbadyu, DT Derrick Hill, DE Tommie Hill, WR Chad Jackson, LB J Leman, CB Walter McFadden, WR Eddie McGee, CB Sterling Moore, RB Louis Rankin and FB Manase Tonga.

Analysis: Edwards was a mild surprise, but the team had to get rid of one signal-caller with Terrelle Pryor on board. Otherwise, all the moves were minor in nature. Neither of the players were expected to make a big Fantasy impact in 2011, so ignore them in all formats.
