News: Free agent QB Todd Bouman will work out for the Raiders this week, the NFL Network reported Monday. Bouman, who has seven career starts, was on Baltimores roster for part of the 2008 season when Hue Jackson was the Ravens quarterbacks coach.
Analysis: The Raiders are taking a look at some QBs with Jason Campbell likely out for the year. Even if Bouman signs with Oakland, he should continue to be ignored in the majority of Fantasy formats.
News: The Jaguars released three players on Monday: QB Todd Bouman, WR Greg Ellingson and LB Gerris Wilkinson.
Analysis: None of the players cut were expected to receive significant playing time this season. They can remain unowned in all formats.
News: With David Garrard sidelined by a back injury, the Jaguars signed veteran Todd Bouman on Tuesday.
Analysis: The 39-year-old Bouman had three stints with the Jaguars last season, initially signed after an injury to Luke McCown and re-signed after injuries to Trent Edwards and Garrard. He also spent time with Jacksonville in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Bouman is just in camp to get reps and likely won't make the team if Garrard, Blaine Gabbert and McCown are healthy. Ignore him in Fantasy.
News: The Jaguars re-signed QB Todd Bouman on Friday.
Analysis: Bouman has been on and off the Jaguars roster a couple of times this season and started in Week 7 before hurting his finger and being subsequently released. Continue to ignore Bouman in Fantasy play.
News: The Jaguars cut QB Todd Bouman on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bouman was the third string QB behind David Garrard and Trent Edwards and had no Fantasy value. You can continue to ignore him.
News: Jacksonville QB Trent Edwards (right thumb) is active for the Week 8 game at Dallas but David Garrard is the starter. That makes Todd Bouman, last week's starter, the team's third quarterback and inactive for the game to start.
Analysis: Outside of the two picks, Bouman threw for two touchdowns and wasn't half-bad against the Chiefs. That said, one week later he's inactive and just an emergency option for the Jaguars. He clearly has no Fantasy value.
News: Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard has been cleared to practice and play after passing post-concussion tests, which signals bad news for QB Todd Bouman. Garrard passed the NFL-mandated tests Tuesday, then worked out at the facility. Coach Jack Del Rio said Monday that Garrard would start Week 8 at Dallas if he received clearance. Bouman started in Week 7 against the Chiefs, but he injured the ring finger on his throwing hand while making a tackle after his second interception.
Analysis: Outside of the two picks, Bouman threw for two touchdowns and wasn't half-bad against the Chiefs. Still, we really didn't expect him to keep the starting job unless he lead Jacksonville to a victory. It's once again safe to ignore Bouman in Fantasy for the time being.
News: Between a finger injury suffered late on Sunday against the Chiefs and QB David Garrard expected to return soon following a concussion, Todd Bouman is not expected to start at Dallas on Sunday. Head coach Jack Del Rio commended Bouman for his play at Kansas City, but restated that Garrard will start when he's cleared to play.
Analysis: Bouman was 18 of 34 passing for 222 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added two carries for 8 yards. Whether he starts or not, owners outside of the deepest of two-QB leagues shouldn't trust in Bouman against the Cowboys on Sunday.
News: The Jaguars started QB Todd Bouman on Sunday in Week 7 at Kansas City with David Garrard (concussion) inactive and Trent Edwards (thumb) listed as the backup. Bouman was 18 of 34 passing for 222 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added two carries for 8 yards. Bouman connected on an 18-yard touchdown pass to Maurice Jones-Drew, who was his leading receiver with five catches for 74 yards, and Mike Sims-Walker for a 9-yard touchdown. Bouman was making his first start since 2005, but in keeping with the Jags' recent luck at quarterback, Bouman said he hurt a finger on his throwing hand while trying to tackle Eric Berry after the rookie safety intercepted him in the final minutes. He refused to say how bad the injury might be. "I have no idea at this point," he said. "I will wait and see what happens. I will find out tomorrow. I got it caught in a guy's jersey trying to make a tackle." Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio sounded as though he would have no problem giving Bouman another start. "Todd played great," Del Rio said. "He played above what we hoped and needed from him today. We would like to have back the pick six there when it was a tight ball game. That marred what was shaping up to be a great day for him."
Analysis: We'll continue to keep you updated on the Jaguars QB status with Garrard, Edwards and Bouman heading into Week 8, but Bouman is not worth using in the majority of leagues even if he starts against the Cowboys. He played well against the Chiefs with 16 Fantasy points in standard-scoring leagues, but he's too risky trust in any formats. Don't plan on starting him at Dallas even if he's the starter.
News: As expected, Jaguars QB Todd Bouman was listed as the starter for Week 7 against the Chiefs. Regular starter David Garrard had been ruled out earlier in the week due to injury.
Analysis: The Chiefs have allowed only six passing touchdowns this season, and Bouman isn't likely to make much happen with the limited weapons around him. Plus, he hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since 2005. You'd have to be desperate for a quarterback to use him in Fantasy.
News: According to ESPN, third-string QB Todd Bouman is likely to start for the Jaguars at Kansas City in Week 7. Starter David Garrard has been ruled out with a concussion, and backup Trent Edwards is dealing with a sprained thumb.
News: Jaguars QB David Garrard is resting at home for the second consecutive day, increasing the chances that Trent Edwards or Todd Bouman will start at Kansas City. Garrard sustained a concussion in Monday night's 30-3 loss to Tennessee and hasn't been back to the facility since. Coach Jack Del Rio says Garrard will be evaluated late this week and he's preparing to play without the ninth-year veteran. The team will release Garrard's game status Friday, but having missed most of team meetings and practices, it's unlikely he will return against the Chiefs. Edwards also could be out. He sprained his right thumb against the Titans and sat out practice Wednesday. If he can't play, Bouman would make his first start since 2005.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Bouman to see if he starts against the Chiefs, but he would have minimal Fantasy value. Kansas City has only allowed six passing touchdowns this year, and Bouman doesn't have enough talent or weapons to be considered a quality Fantay option in this matchup.
News: With starter David Garrard and backup Trent Edwards both injured, the Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing back veteran quarterback Todd Bouman. The Jaguars re-signed Bouman on Tuesday and released safety Gerald Alexander. Garrard left Week 6 against Tennessee with a concussion in the second quarter, and Edwards injured his right thumb while playing the rest of the game. Coach Jack Del Rio said on his weekly radio show that "there's a strong possibility we won't have either guy" during practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Bouman was released Oct. 5 after spending two weeks on the active roster following a season-ending injury to backup Luke McCown. Bouman could be in a backup role in Week 7 against the Chiefs, if either Garrard or Edwards is unavailable. But even if he starts, Bouman is nothing more than a desperation Fantasy option.
News: The Jaguars re-signed QB Todd Bouman on Tuesday.
Analysis: With David Garrard's head hurting and Trent Edwards hardly impressive on Monday night against the Titans, Bouman's presence was needed back on the roster again. He will backup whoever gets the start in Week 7, so continue to ignore him in Fantasy play for now.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that the Jaguars have released QB Todd Bouman, clearing the way for Trent Edwards to move up the depth chart to No. 2 behind David Garrard.
Analysis: Bouman was added last month when Luke McCown went down with a torn ACL, but the Jags picked up Edwards after he was dropped by the Bills. Edwards has impressed enough to be trusted as the team's No. 2 option. Continue to ignore Bouman in Fantasy play.
News: The Steelers have met with experienced quarterbacks Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman, a sign that injured backup Charlie Batch might be out longer than the team first expected. Batch broke his left wrist in Kansas City on Sunday, leaving second-year quarterback Dennis Dixon as the only backup to starter Ben Roethlisberger on the 53-man roster. Former Pitt quarterback Tyler Palko is on the practice squad. Batch had surgery on Wednesday and was expected to be out two to four weeks.
Analysis: Ramsey was cut by Tennessee last month. Bouman, a former Vikings backup, played briefly for Baltimore last season. Neither are worth owning in Fantasy.
News: Jacksonville finalized their deal for QB Luke McCown and cut veteran backup Todd Bouman on Sunday. Jacksonville traded an undisclosed draft pick in 2010 to Tampa Bay on Saturday night in exchange for McCown. He is 1-6 as a starter, has completed 59.7 percent of his passes, and has nine touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. Byron Leftwich beat out McCown for Tampa Bay's starting job. The Jaguars will head into their regular-season opener at Indianapolis next Sunday with little experience behind starter David Garrard and a backup still trying to learn the playbook.
Analysis: The 37-year-old Bouman played briefly with the Jaguars in both 2007 and 2008 but is no longer in the team's plans. He should not be in any Fantasy owners' plans, either. Leave him on waivers in all leagues.
News: Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio says Jacksonville is happy with backup quarterback Todd Bouman. On Sunday, Del Rio denied reports that the Jaguars are pursuing another quarterback as the team waived its third QB, Paul Smith. "We like Todd," Del Rio said.
Analysis: The 37-year-old Bouman played briefly with the Jaguars in both 2007 and 2008 and was re-signed May 12 to compete with Cleo Lemon to back up David Garrard. Lemon was released June 17. In three preseason games, Bouman has completed 27 of 58 passes for 309 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and has a passer rating of 67.4. Bouman, who has started six games in a career that includes time with Minnesota, New Orleans, Green Bay and Baltimore, said he is working on raising his 46.6 completion percentage in the preseason. The Jags may like Bouman, but Fantasy owners need not own him in any format.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that since the Jaguars released QB Cleo Lemon on Wednesday, the backup job behind starter David Garrard belongs to Todd Bouman. Bouman will be 37 when training camp opens and is in his 11th year, mostly as a career backup. He has played with six teams and started six games in his career - three each with the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints.
Analysis: Bouman gets moved up the depth chart, but he has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him on Draft Day in all leagues, and he would only be worth adding off the waiver wire if Garrard gets hurt.
News: The Ravens released QB Todd Bouman on Monday, but he wasn't out of work for long. The Florida Times-Union reports that Bouman has agreed to a one-year deal with the Jaguars. Bouman has bounced between those clubs for the last couple of seasons.
Analysis: Bouman hopes to latch on as a No. 3/emergency QB behind David Garrard and Cleo Lemon. He's not worth owning at this time.
News: The Baltimore Sun reports QB Todd Bouman reached an agreement to return to the Ravens, the team announced Tuesday. Bouman, 36, who spent his first season with the Ravens last year, is expected to be the third-string QB behind Joe Flacco and Troy Smith. Bouman spent the first five weeks of last season as the No. 2 QB before dropping to No. 3 once Smith had recovered from a severe tonsil infection.
Analysis: Bouman has minimal Fantasy value and should not be drafted in any leagues this season.
News: The Baltimore Ravens have listed the following players as inactive for Week 16 on Saturday night at Dallas: QB Todd Bouman (3rd QB), K Steven Hauschka, WR Terrance Copper, WR Marcus Maxwell and DL Edgar Jones.
Analysis: Most of these players are nothing more than reserves or minor contributors for the Ravens. They have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep them reserved Week 16 at Dallas.
News: Ravens QB Todd Bouman (3rd), RB Jalen Parmele, WR Terrance Copper, WR Marcus Maxwell and DB Evan Oglesby have all been ruled inactive for Week 15 vs. Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Most of these players are nothing more than reserves or minor contributors for the Ravens. They have little to no Fantasy value when active. Keep them reserved Week 15 and likely longer.
News: The Ravens have announced their Week 13 inactives. Not in uniform in Cincinnati will be: QB Todd Bouman (third QB), WR Terrance Copper (neck), WR Marcus Maxwell (coach's decision), CB Frank Walker (coach's decision), TE Edgar Jones (coach's decision) and DT Lamar Divens (shoulder).
Analysis: Copper has some minimal Fantasy value, but continue to ignore him in all formats, just like all the other players on this list.
News: The Ravens waived Todd Bouman on Saturday and added DB Anwar Phillips off the practice squad. Bouman had not appeared in any game during the regular season.
Analysis: This roster move has little to no Fantasy implications. Bouman is not worth owning in Fantasy as a free agent or a backup and Phillips does not figure to play a big role.
News: The Ravens listed the following players as inactive for Week 8 vs. Oakland: QB Todd Bouman (third QB), WR Marcus Smith, WR Yamon Figurs, DB Chris McAlister, DB Dawan Landry, DB Samari Rolle and DL Lamar Divens.
Analysis: None of the players on this list should be considered viable Fantasy option. They are not in a position to contribute regular stats as they aren't in line for regular playing time. They've got some depth chart climbing to do and should be left on the waiver wire.
News: Ravens WR Yamon Figurs and backup QB Todd Bouman were active and dressed but didn't record offensive statistics Week 5 vs. the Titans.
Analysis: None of these players offers enough statistically to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers. The Ravens play at the Colts in Week 6.
News: Ravens WR Yamon Figurs, RB Lorenzo Neal, QB Todd Bouman and WR Marcus Smith didn't record offensive statistics Week 4 at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: None of these players offers enough statistically to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: Baltimore WR Marcus Smith and QB Todd Bouman did not play in Week 3's game against Baltimore. The Ravens did play TE Daniel Wilcox but he did not stat in the game.
Analysis: These players are nothing more than reserves or minor contributors for the Ravens. They have little to no Fantasy value heading into Week 4 at Pittsburgh.
News: Ravens WR Yamon Figurs, TE Daniel Wilcox and QB Todd Bouman all dressed, but failed to record any offensive stats Week 1 against the Bengals.
Analysis: Most of these players are nothing more than reserves or minor contributors for the Ravens. They have little to no Fantasy value heading into Week 2 against the Texans.
News: According to a report, the Ravens signed QB Todd Bouman on Tuesday. Bouman worked out Monday in Baltimore against Chris Simms and Joey Harrington. On Tuesday morning, he was offered a one-year deal at $830,000, according to ESPN. Bouman was just cut by Jacksonville. The Ravens named Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback Monday but have injury concerns with Troy Smith and Kyle Boller. Smith has infected tonsils and Boller has a torn labrum in his shoulder and might need surgery.
Analysis: Bouman would serve as the No. 3 QB for the Ravens at best and has no Fantasy value at this time. Ignore him in all leagues for now.
News: The Florida Times-Union reports that the Jaguars re-signed QB Todd Bouman and TEs Charles Davis and Richard Angulo.
Analysis: These three will provide organizational depth and not help Fantasy owners out otherwise. Keep them out of Fantasy draft plans.
News: Rams WR Marques Hagans, RB Travis Minor, FB Richard Owens, WR Drew Bennett, TE Dominique Byrd, WR Dane Looker and backup QB Todd Bouman were all active and dressed but failed to tally an offensive stat in Week 14 at Cincinnati.
Analysis: None of these players post enough stats to warrant use in seasonal Fantasy play. Keep them off of rosters for the foreseeable future. The Rams host the Packers in Week 15.
News: According to published reports, Rams QB Marc Bulger will not play Week 14 at Cincinnati after suffering a setback as he tries to recover from a concussion. Brock Berlin will make his first career start Sunday against the Bengals. Recently signed Todd Bouman will dress as the backup quarterback and Gus Frerotte, who is nursing a right shoulder injury, will dress as the emergency QB.
Analysis: Bouman is a journeyman QB and has made just six starts in his NFL career. He likely won't get into the game Sunday unless Berlin goes down with an injury or feels overwhelmed. Ignore Bouman in Fantasy leagues until further notice.
News: Rams QB Marc Bulger (concussion) was limited in practice Friday after practicing in full on Wednesday and Thursday. The team listed him as questionable for Week 14 at Cincinnati after he had some issues after practice on Thursday. "There was no reason until yesterday afternoon to believe he wasn't going to play," coach Scott Linehan said Friday. "Based on how he felt physically, it changed. I told Brock (Berlin) to get ready yesterday afternoon, at the end of the meeting. He took a number of snaps today. He's prepared to play."
Analysis: The Rams were optimistic that Bulger would play earlier this week, but that has changed. Furthermore, the team signed QB Todd Bouman to serve as an emergency quarterback, a sign that Bulger shouldn't be counted on for Fantasy use. If you must set your lineup before Sunday, we advise going in another direction than Bulger this week. Third stringer Brock Berlin would start at QB for the Rams if Bulger cannot go. We'll know the official word on this an hour before kickoff on Sunday, at the latest.
News: The Jacksonville Jaguars released quarterback Todd Bouman on Tuesday, two days after David Garrard returned to the starting lineup. The Jaguars signed Bouman on Oct. 25 to serve as Quinn Gray's backup while Garrard recovered from a sprained left ankle. Bouman dressed for three games but did not play. He was inactive Sunday against San Diego.
Analysis: Bouman shouldn't be considered a good option for Fantasy play.
News: The Jaguars inactives for Week 11 against the Chargers include QB Todd Bouman (3rd QB), WR John Broussard, RB LaBrandon Toefield, DB Aaron Glenn and DL Bobby McCrary.
Analysis: Keep all these players reserved in Week 11 and continue to monitor their status for Week 12 against Buffalo.
News: Jaguars QB Todd Bouman, WR John Broussard, FB Montell Owens and TE Joe Zelenka did not record any offensive stats in Week 10 at Tennessee.
Analysis: None of the players on this list should be owned in Fantasy leagues. They are not in a situation to produce regular stats.
News: Jaguars QB Todd Bouman, RB Montell Owens, TE Isaac Smolko and TE/LS Joe Zelenka did not record any offensive stats in Week 9 at New Orleans.
Analysis: None of these players are currently in a position to help your Fantasy squad. Leave them on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: Jaguars TE George Wrighster, RB Montell Owens, TE Joe Zelenka and QB Todd Bouman all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat during a Week 8 win over the Bucs.
Analysis: Most of these players either play on special teams or are merely backups for the Jaguars. They have little to no Fantasy value heading into Week 9 against the Saints.
News: QB Todd Bouman signed a one-year contract with the Jaguars on Thursday, giving them a backup while David Garrard recovers from an ankle injury. Bouman, a 10-year pro who has six career starts, signed for the veteran minimum of $720,000. The 35-year-old Bouman has played in 42 games with Minnesota, New Orleans and Green Bay. He was Brett Favre's backup for part of last season with the Packers, but did not play. He has thrown for 1,683 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He was helping coach Buffalo High in Buffalo, Minn., when the Jaguars contacted him about a tryout. Bouman, Doug Johnson and Drew Henson worked out for the Jaguars on Wednesday. Bouman may have had an advantage since he played six years in Minnesota (1997-2002) while current Jacksonville assistant head coach Mike Tice was part of that coaching staff.
Analysis: Bouman has no Fantasy value unless something happens to Quinn Gray while Garrard is out. Keep Bouman reserved in all leagues.
News: With Jaguars quarterback David Garrard sidelined up to a month with a badly sprained left ankle, the team approached veteran Drew Bledsoe about a tryout, but the former No. 1 overall draft pick declined to come out of retirement. Instead, the Jaguars also planned to work out Doug Johnson, Drew Henson and Todd Bouman.
Analysis: Whomever becomes the interim backup QB in Jacksonville isn't expected to produce decent stats and isn't worth a look in Fantasy play.
News: TE Zac Alcorn, FB William Henderson, WR Carlyle Holiday and FB Brandon Miree were all about to play, but they did not record any offensive statistics in Week 16 against the Vikings. Actually, Holiday was able to throw a pass, but it fell incomplete.
Analysis: Backup QB Todd Bouman also dressed for the game but he did not play. None of these players are worth using in the regular season finale in Week 17 at Chicago.
News: Packers QB Todd Bouman, WR Chris Francies, FB William Henderson, TE Bubba Franks, RB Noah Herron and TE David Martin did not have any offensive stats in Week 15 vs. Detroit.
Analysis: Do not use any of these players in Fantasy play until further notice.
News: Packers who were active and dressed but didn't record an offensive statistic in Week 13 include: Backup QB Todd Bouman, FB William Henderson, FB Brandon Miree and TE Zac Alcorn.
Analysis: These players shouldn't be on Fantasy rosters.
News: TE Zac Alcorn, WR Chris Francies, TE Donald Lee and FB Brandon Miree were able to play in Week 12 at Seattle but they did not record any offensive statisitics.
Analysis: Backup QB Todd Bouman also dressed for the game and did not get into the game. None of the players above have any Fantasy value heading into Week 13 against N.Y. Jets.
News: Quarterback Todd Bouman signed Tuesday with the Packers to replace injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Steve Caric, vice president of marketing and public relations for Premier Management, confirmed the signing Tuesday.
Analysis: Bouman, 34, has nine years of NFL experience, mostly with the Minnesota Vikings. Bouman spent the past three seasons in New Orleans, where Packers coach Mike McCarthy was the offensive coordinator in 2003 and 2004. Bouman started three games for the Saints last year, completing 68 of 122 passes for 722 yards with two touchdowns and seven interceptions. As a No. 3 QB on the Packers, he should not be owned in any Fantasy leagues at this point.
News: The Green Bay Post-Gazette reports that the Packers will hold tryouts for their No. 2 QB. Expected to attend are ex-Saints J.T. O'Sullivan and Todd Bouman as well as former Bronco Bradlee Van Pelt. Packers coach Mike McCarthy is familiar with Sullivan and Bouman from their days together in New Orleans when McCarthy was the offensive coordinator.
Analysis: Whomever wins this job will be the Packers No. 3 QB for the rest of the season and shouldn't be owned in Fantasy play.
News: The Boston Herald reports that the Patriots have had significant workouts with veteran QBs Vinny Testaverde, Tommy Maddox and Todd Bouman recently. Some people think the team would be best off trying to coax Doug Flutie out of retirement to back up Tom Brady and Matt Cassel.
Analysis: None of these players should be added to Fantasy roster at this time. Tom Brady will be the Patriots' starting QB for the forseeable future.
News: The New Orleans Saints released five players Sunday, including backup quarterback Todd Bouman and defensive lineman Tony Bryant, to make room for five new players claimed off waivers. The three other players released were defensive back Anwar Phillips, tackle Ben Archibald and wide receiver Bethel Johnson. Johnson sprained his knee on a kick return during a preseason game against Minnesota. The new players were tackle Rob Pettiti, defensive back DeJuan Groce, defensive back Curtis Deloatch, wide receiver Terrance Copper and defensive end Michael Haynes. Bouman had been in the league for nine years, the last three with the Saints and the other six with Minnesota. He would have been the Saints' third quarterback, but a relatively expensive one.
Analysis: None of the players involved warrant Fantasy consideration.
News: New Orleans veterans Todd Bouman and Jamie Martin have been in a spirited struggle in Saints camp to back up QB Drew Brees. Unlike Brees, who was acquired from San Diego in the offseason, both have thrown touchdown passes in the preseason. "There are some guys that have done some good things in this camp and we'll have a chance to see them maybe more than just in the first quarter," head coach Sean Payton said. Bouman and Martin are expected to see extended playing time.
Analysis: Neither quarterback is useful for Fantasy unless they become regular starters. Don't add them to Fantasy rosters for now.
News: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Todd Bouman is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts. Starter Drew Brees is expected to play into the third quarter and then veteran Jamie Martin is scheduled to finish it out.
Analysis: Bouman likely locked up the team's No. 2 job over Martin in the last preseason game. Either way, neither of the two quarterbacks have any Fantasy value unless Brees goes down with a long-term injury.
News: Todd Bouman completed 13-of-16 passes for 117 yards in Monday's preseason game against the Cowboys in Shreveport, La. He likely cemented the team's No. 2 quarterback job over Jamie Martin, who did not play.
Analysis: Bouman looked awfully good for the Saints, as he will likely hang onto his No. 2 job after a spirited challenge for Martin. He has no Fantasy value, however, unless starter Drew Brees suffers some kind of long-term injury.
News: According to published reports, Todd Bouman is expected to play most of the second half of Monday's preseason game against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Bouman was slated to compete for a starting job in 2006 until the team acquired Drew Brees during the offseason. Now, he has just marginal Fantasy appeal and should go unselected on Draft Day barring a long-term injury to Brees during the preseason.
News: Todd Bouman threw for 722 yards with two TDs and seven INTs in 16 games (three starts) this season in New Orleans. He finished the season atop the depth chart after the demotion of Aaron Brooks, who is expected to be released.
Analysis: Bouman could have a chance to start next season if the Saints draft a quarterback (Matt Leinart, Vince Young) and want him to sit for a season. In a best-case scenario, Bouman will be worth a late-round choice in 2006 drafts.
News: Todd Bouman threw for 265 yards in Week 17 at Tampa Bay. He threw one TD pass and two interceptions and he lost a fumble in the effort.
Analysis: Bouman was unimpressive in his starts down the stretch of the season, but he didn't have much to work with on a team just counting the days until the end of a horrible forgettable season.
News: Todd Bouman wasn't much better than last week at the beginning of his second start for New Orleans. A week after committing five turnovers in a loss to Carolina, Bouman was sacked and fumbled. He completed 21 of 28 passes for 233 yards against Detroit Saturday.
Analysis: Bouman is not a recommended start in Week 17 at Pittsburgh.
News: According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Jim Haslett has named Todd Bouman the starter for Week 16 vs. Detroit.
Analysis: Bouman threw four interceptions in Week 15 vs. Carolina and he also lost a fumble. Despite the horrid effort, Aaron Brooks will remain on the bench for the rest of the season.
News: Todd Bouman threw four interceptions in Week 15 vs. Carolina. He was 17-for-34 for 193 yards and he also lost a fumble. He did throw a 23-yard TD pass to Donte' Stallworth.
Analysis: Not a good way to start the Todd Bouman era in New Orleans. Five turnovers to just one touchdown is not a ratio that warrants much Fantasy consideration. He'll look to bounce back in Week 16 vs. Detroit.
News: Saints head coach Jim Haslett has decided to bench Aaron Brooks for the rest of the season. Todd Bouman will start in the final three weeks. "I think the team will rally around Todd," Haslett said. "This was the time to see if Todd could handle the situation."
Analysis: Bouman should be added in team's with 12-plus teams, but he's not a recommended starter in most cases against Carolina.
News: According to reports, Saints QB Aaron Brooks has been benched and won't start vs. Carolina in Week 15. Todd Bouman is expected to start in his place.
Analysis: Bouman shouldn't be used against a strong Panthers defense in Week 15.
News: Todd Bouman got into the game in Week 14 at Atlanta, but he did not record any offensive statistics.
Analysis: Bouman is not a useful Fantasy option for Week 15 against Carolina.
News: Aaron Brooks was pulled out of Sunday's game at Green Bay in the third quarter in favor of Todd Bouman. Brooks threw for 146 yards with no TDs and two interceptions in the contest.
Analysis: Brooks had a great matchup this week and couldn't muster even one touchdown, but Bouman still has little chance to unseat him as the starter.
News: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Todd Bouman has been pushing Brooks during training camp. He also reportedly looked terrific in a scrimmage on Saturday in Brooks' (thigh) absence.
Analysis: While Brooks remains the No. 1 quarterback in the Big Easy, it is a little alarming. If you select Brooks in the middle rounds as your No. 2 quarterback, considering nabbing Bouman in the last couple of rounds if you can afford the roster spot, just in case there is a shuffle at the quarterback position.
News: Todd Bouman took snaps with the first-team offense Wednesday in case Aaron Brooks (sprained knee) is unable to play, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Analysis: Bouman is not worth starting in Fantasy leagues even if he gets the start at Washington Sunday.
News: According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Bouman has reached a one-year contract agreement with New Orleans. The Saints will now trade Minnesota a sixth-round pick in April's Draft. Bouman will back up Aaron Brooks next season and is good insurance for Fantasy owners that select Brooks in the early rounds.
Analysis:
News: Bouman might be traded during the offseason, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Coach Mike Tice reportedly wants a quarterback that can be an experienced mentor for starter Daunte Culpepper. "If we don't trade Todd, he'll be our backup," Tice said. "But my backup has to have more of a gameday presence. I want him to be able to help out Daunte. If Todd is our backup, he'll have to do a better job of those things."
Analysis:
News: Bouman is not expected to start in Week 11. Daunte Culpepper will start against Green Bay, but Bouman might be used again if Culpepper struggles. Add Bouman to your roster if you own Culpepper.
Analysis:
News: Bouman replaced Daunte Culpepper in Week 10. Culpepper was benched in the fourth quarter after another poor performance. Bouman finished with 85 passing yards, and might be worth picking up if Culpepper is on your roster.
Analysis:
News: Bouman (thumb) is expected to miss Monday night's season finale against Baltimore. Spergon Wynn will start his second consecutive game in Bouman's absence.
Analysis:
News: Bouman took a few snaps Thursday but didn't appear to meet coach Dennis Green's "full strength" criteria for starting against Green Bay. Spergon Wynn is likely to start Sunday, though coaches didn't discuss the issue after Thursday's practice. Bouman didn't participate in the team's morning walk-through, when players work on plays without fully suiting up. And during the portion of the regular practice that reporters were allowed to watch, Wynn took more snaps than Bouman. A trainer said Wynn continued to take more snaps later in the closed portion of practice.
Analysis:
News: Bouman (thumb) may attempt to practice late in the week. His status remains unclear for this week's game, and Spergon Wynn is available to start if needed.
Analysis:
News: Bouman is now listed as probable for Sunday's game. He should be able to start against the Jaguars, but he may play with some pain in his thumb.
Analysis:
News: Bouman worked on a limited basis in practice on Thursday. There is a chance Spergon Wynn may start in his place this week, and that decision may be made on Friday.
Analysis:
News: Bouman (thumb) missed practice on Wednesday. He is expected to play this week, although the Minneapolis Star-Tribune says he might have to throw in pain. "We think he'll be practicing full speed on Thursday and Friday," Dennis Green said. "I think he'll get accustomed to how he's got to throw the ball and I think he will be effective."

News: Bouman strained a ligament on the palm side of the thumb during the Vikings' 27-24 loss Sunday at Detroit. He will be listed as probable for Week 15, but Bouman said he isn't sure he'll be ready in time for Sunday's game vs. Jacksonville. Analysis:
News: Bouman started in place of the injured Daunte Culpepper on Sunday. He was impressive against Tennessee, posting 348 yards passing and four touchdowns, but don't expect a quarterback controversy in Minnesota.
