Chiefs defense in good shape for playoffs

(1/4/2014) Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali is officially active for Saturday's Wild Card round game against the Colts, despite being listed as questionable on the injury report with a knee injury. Hali sat out the team's final regular season game as a result of the injury as well. 

Hali is joined on the field by fellow injured linebacker Justin Houston (elbow) and defensive back Ron Parker (finger, ankle), both of whom were considered probable for the game. 


Chiefs mostly healthy heading into playoff game

(1/3/2014) Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) is listed as questionable for the Saturday playoff clash at Indianapolis. Aside from ruled-out tackle Eric Fisher, he is the lone threat not to play.

The probables are tackle Branden Albert (knee), wideout Dwayne Bowe (concussion), linebacker Justin Houston (elbow), offensive lineman Eric Kush (ankle) and defensive back Ron Parker (finger/ankle).


Chiefs' backup defenders acquit themselves well

(12/29/2013) Playing exclusively with backups, the Chiefs DST acquitted itself well Week 17 at San Diego. The unit got a turnover when cornerback Ron Parker intercepted Philip Rivers and also sacked Rivers three times.

At one point, Kansas City forced five straight punts. But eventually, the Chargers got rolling and piled up 27 points and 405 total yards. The Chiefs DST will field its top-line players in Saturday's wild card game at Indianapolis.

(12/15/2013) Chiefs defensive back Ron Parker overcame a shoulder injury and came down with his first interception of the season against the Raiders in Week 15.

Parker picked off Terrelle Pryor late in the fourth quarter to cap off a convincing win. He finished with no tackles and only one pass defended in a 56-31 victory.

Among them is linebacker Derrick Johnson (wrist), who has three sacks in the last two games. The others are offensive lineman Jeff Allen (knee/groin), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe), defensive back Ron Parker (toe) and running back Anthony Sherman knee/calf).

(9/1/2013) The Chiefs claimed seven players off waivers: wideout Chad Hall (San Francisco), tight end Sean McGrath (Seattle), linebackers Dezman Moses (Green Bay) and James-Michael Johnson (Cleveland), defensive backs Ron Parker (Seattle) and Marcus Cooper (San Francisco) and defensive lineman Jaye Howard (Seattle).

To make room, Kansas City released wideout Devon Wylie, tight end Kevin Brock, defensive lineman Jerrell Powe, linebacker Zac Diles and defensive backs Jalil Brown and Bradley McDougald.


Seahawks make final cuts

(8/31/2013) The Seahawks officially finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by terminating the contracts of defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, fullback Michael Robinson, quarterback Brady Quinn and cornerback Antoine Winfield.

In addition, Seattle waived the following 18 players from the roster: wide receiver Phil Bates, defensive tackle Michael Brooks, defensive tackle Dewayne Cherrington, wide receiver Arceto Clark, tight end Darren Fells, defensive back Winston Guy, wide receiver Chris Harper, tight end Cooper Helfet, defensive tackle Jaye Howard, guard Rishaw Johnson, tight end Sean McGrath, defensive back Ron Parker, linebacker Ty Powell, guard Ryan Seymour, defensive back DeShawn Shead, defensive tackle Sealver Siliga, guard Jared Smith and wide receiver Bryan Walters.
