Browns defense healthy on Sunday

(12/15/2013) The Browns injury report for Week 15 against the Bears featured six players from the defensive side of the ball, all of whom were expected to take the field Sunday.  As expected, all six are active prior to kickoff: linebackers Tank Carder (shoulder), D'Qwell Jackson (ankle), Paul Kruger (elbow) and Craig Robertson (knee); defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin (calf); and defensive back T.J. Ward (shoulder).

They are linebackers Craig Robertson (knee), D'Qwell Jackson (ankle), Paul Kruger (elbow) and Tank Carder (shoulder), lineman Ahtyba Rubin (calif) and safety T.J. Ward (shoulder).

(12/6/2013) Linebacker Craig Robertson was inactive the last two games with a knee injury, but he leads a short list of Browns listed as questionable for Sunday at New England and could make his return. The other questionables are fellow linebacker Tank Carder (shoulder) and tight end MarQueis Gray (hamstring).

Among the probables are linebacker Paul Kruger (finger), running back Willis McGahee (knee) and tackle Mitchell Schwartz (toe).

The latter has been ruled out while Robertson is doubtful for the game Sunday against Jacksonville. His absence could result in inexperienced Darius Eubanks starting against Jacksonville.

(11/27/2013) One key defensive starter is set to practice Wednesday for the Browns, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has reported. Cornerback Buster Skrine (ribs) is ready to roll, but linebacker Craig Robertson (knee) is out.

Also not practicing will be linebacker Tank Carder (shoulder), who filled in for Robertson in Week 12 before sustaining his injury. If Carder and Robertson can't play Sunday against Jacksonville, Darius Eubanks will start.

(11/24/2013) Defensive end Armonty Bryant (back), tight end MarQueis Gray (hamstring) and linebacker Craig Robertson (knee) have all been ruled out by the Browns for their game Sunday against Pittsburgh.

The healthy scratches are offensive linemen Martin Wallace, Reid Fragel, Patrick Lewis and Garrett Gilkey.

(11/22/2013) The continued absence of Browns starting inside linebacker Craig Robertson from practice Friday indicates that he won't play Sunday against visiting Pittsburgh. Robertson, who is third on the team in tackles, injured his knee in the game last week in Cincinnati.

It appears that Tank Carder, who has been used mostly on special teams, will start against the Steelers.

Robertson picked up six tackles -- three solo -- and added his first sack of the season. Robertson has 32 tackles through five games, putting him on pace to surpass his total from his rookie season.

(9/8/2013) The Browns dominated against the run Sunday and several defensive players contributed. Included was linebacker Craig Robertson, who recorded five tackles, including one for a loss.

The secondary was led by new free safety Tashaun Gipson, who managed to secure the only turnover with an interception.

A more challenging offense for the Browns, however, awaits them in Baltimore next Sunday.
