Carr will take on the Chiefs Week 15.

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/30/2014) Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr was lifted in the fourth quarter of Sunday's blowout in St. Louis and replaced by veteran Matt Schaub. Carr put together a miserable performance, completing 24 of 39 passes for 173 yards and no touchdowns with two interceptions.

Carr took three sacks and posted a 50.5 passer rating. He's accounted for one touchdown over his past three games.

The Raiders host the 49ers in Week 14.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(11/2/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr threw two touchdowns Week 9 against the Seahawks.

Carr completed 24 of 41 passes for 194 yards and two scores. He also threw two interceptions during the contest. Carr had a rough stretch early on. Near the end of the first quarter, he threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown. On the next drive, Carr threw his second pick. He managed to settle in after that, throwing two 1 yard touchdowns to Mychal Rivera.

Carr will look for more Week 10 against the Broncos.

Raiders QB Carr puts up numbers Sunday - but not points

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/26/2014) Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr needed a garbage-time touchdown to avoid putting just six points on the board Sunday in Cleveland, but his numbers were impressive when the final tick went off the clock.

Carr finished 34 of 54 for a career-high 328 yards and no interceptions. He began the game by rolling right and hitting Andre Holmes for 16 yards and also found Holmes and Kenbrell Thompkins late in the second quarter for a combined 46 yards to set up a field goal. But he struggled most of the fourth quarter until hitting Holmes on a 10-yard screen for the score.

He will attempt to lead his team to its first victory of the season in Seattle on Sunday.

La Canfora: Raiders willing to deal QB Schaub

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/26/2014) The Raiders would be willing to trade quarterback Matt Schaub before the trade deadline, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora on Sunday. However, according to his sources, there isn't much of a market for the 33-year-old backup quarterback who signed a two-year, $13.5 million contract in the offseason with Oakland.

Raiders' Derek Carr gets shut down Week 7

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/19/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was shut down by the Cardinals Week 7.

Carr completed 16 of 28 passes for 173 yards. He was unable to throw for any touchdowns, but also did not turn the ball over. Carr took just one sack during the contest, losing nine yards. He also had two rushing attempts, gaining two yards. Carr had a tough time getting things going. He tried to force balls to James Jones and Darren McFadden, but neither was able to get much done with their chances.

Carr will take on the Browns Week 8.

Derek Carr's big day could have been bigger

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/13/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, who on Sunday became the first Oakland rookie to throw four touchdowns, could have had an even bigger performance against the Chargers. Carr's receivers dropped five of his 34 passes.

"As many balls as I overthrow or miss at practice, I'm never going to be one to rip into somebody," Carr told ESPN.com. "They're professional football players; I don't need to go console them or anything like that. I just go, 'Hey, you're better than that,' and those kinds of things. They already know before I even get to them."

Carr completed 18 of 34 throws for 283 yards with one interception in the 31-28 loss to San Diego. He faces the Cardinals in Week 7.

Derek Carr makes most of weapons

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/13/2014) Making a quick return from a sprained knee and ankle, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr turned in the best performance of his rookie season Week 6 against a Chargers defense that had been the talk of the league, lighting it up for four touchdowns.

But he didn't do it alone.

Wide receiver Andre Holmes deserves much of the credit for the performance. Getting extensive playing time again after shining with backup Matt McGloin in the last quarter-plus of Week 4 against the Dolphins, Holmes beat the defense for a 77-yard touchdown in the first quarter and had a 6-yard grab in the back corner of the end zone in the fourth.

Of course, Carr also had a 6-yard touchdown pass to James Jones in the second quarter and a 47-yard touchdown pass to Brice Butler in the third. All four throws were right on the money.

He completed only 18 of 34 passes overall, though, which is cause for concern, but Carr might have enough playmakers in the receiving corps to have some low-end appeal in two-quarterback leagues, particularly if Holmes stays on the field.

Raiders QB Derek Carr throws career-high four TD passes

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/12/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr entered Sunday with only four touchdowns passes on the season. He doubled that amount with a career-best four-touchdown performance in a Week 6 home win over the Chargers. He became the first Oakland rookie to throw for four scores.

Carr got off to a fast start, connecting with Andre Holmes for a 77-yard touchdown on his first pass attempt of the day. He found James Jones in the end zone from 6 yards out in the second quarter. He hooked up with Brice Butler for a 44-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter and Holmes again for a 6-yard score in the fourth quarter. An interception to Jason Verrett with 1:13 remaining in the game proved to be costly for Carr in a 31-28 defeat.

Carr compiled 283 yards through the air while completing 18 of 34 passes. He added four touchdowns and one interception, registering a 107.8 passer rating. Carr will look to bounce back Week 7 at home against Arizona.

Raiders rule QB Derek Carr active for Week 6

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/12/2014) As expected, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was ruled active for Week 6 at home against the Chargers. Carr suffered an MCL sprain and high ankle sprain Week 4 against the Dolphins, but a bye week gave him enough time to recover for Sunday's divisional game. It will be his first game under interim head coach Tony Sparano.

Jason La Canfora: QB Derek Carr expected to start for Raiders

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/10/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, who suffered an MCL sprain and high ankle sprain Week 4 against the Dolphins, has worked hard to overcome his pre-bye injuries and is expected to return to his starting spot against the Chargers in Week 6, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora on Friday.

Raiders interim head coach Tony Sparano has named him the starter and told him he can no longer play like a rookie moving forward. Carr has passed for only 734 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions through four games.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (ankle, knee) able to practice Monday

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/6/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, who suffered an MCL sprain and high ankle sprain Week 4 against the Dolphins, was able to participate in the team's first practice Monday following its Week 5 bye. Carr said last week he was hopeful to play Week 6 against the Chargers.

Matt McGloin relieves Derek Carr in Week 4

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/28/2014) Raiders backup quarterback Matt McGloin relieved an injured Derek Carr in Week 4 against the Dolphins in London.

McGloin nearly played the entire second half and connected on a 22-yard touchdown pass to Andre Holmes in the fourth quarter. He was also intercepted by Jimmy Wilson and Walt Aikens. He converted 12 of 19 pass attempts for 129 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in a 38-14 defeat.

The Raiders will head into a bye week. If Carr is unable to play in Week 6 at home against the Chargers, then McGloin could earn the start. Matt Schaub would also be a candidate to play against San Diego.

Derek Carr departs with apparent knee injury

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/28/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was forced out of Week 4 against the Dolphins in London with an apparent left knee injury.

Carr took a tough hit to the knee by Jelani Jenkins while on the run in the third quarter. He limped off the field and was replaced by Matt McGloin. Carr completed 15 of 25 passes for 132 yards, with a touchdown and an interception.

According to the NFL Network, Carr went the locker room for X-rays. His return is questionable.

Late interception costs Derek Carr

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/21/2014) The Raiders had a conservative game plan on the road against a Patriots defense that proved to be stout through the first two weeks, and rookie quarterback Derek Carr once again completed more than 60 percent (21 for 34) of his passes as a result. Of course, he also threw for just 174 yards and couldn't get the Raiders in the end zone in a 16-9 loss.

The closest he came was on the team's final drive of the game, when running back Darren McFadden had what looked like a game-tying 6-yard touchdown run with about a minute to go, but the play was reversed on a holding call. Carr threw an interception on the very next play.

After throwing two touchdown passes to no interceptions in his first game, he has thrown one touchdown pass to three interceptions in his last two. He'll look to reverse the trend Week 4 against the Dolphins.

Derek Carr picked off twice in home-opener

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/14/2014) Raiders quarterback Derek Carr surpassed the 250-yard mark in a rough outing at home against the Texans in Week 2.

Carr was picked off by Kareem Jackson, who nearly took it back for a touchdown. It was Carr's first interception of the season. He was intercepted by Brooks Reed in the fourth quarter before firing a 9-yard touchdown pass to James Jones with 13 seconds remaining. He finished the game with 263 yards through the air while completing 27 of 42 attempts. He had one touchdown and two interceptions, registering a 69.8 passer rating in a 30-14 defeat.

Carr has 414 passing yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions through his first two career games. He will travel to New England for a Week 3 showdown against the Patriots.

Derek Carr unable to connect downfield

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/8/2014) Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr completed 20 of 32 passes against the Jets in his debut, but only three completions were caught 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. And eight of Carr's completions were behind the line.

"We had some shot plays called down the field, and a couple of those opportunities, for whatever the reason was, we didn't get the ball down the field and ended up having to check it down," coach Dennis Allen told the Oakland Tribune. "I would say it's a combination of us and some of what they did."

Carr, who has a big arm, will try to attack downfield more Week 2 against Houston.

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/1/2014) Raiders players have been told the team will start rookie Derek Carr over veteran Matt Schaub at quarterback, reports Fox Sports. Carr threw three touchdown passes in last Thursday's preseason finale while Schaub has battled elbow problems.

Raiders will have plan in place for starting QB early next week

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8/29/2014) Raiders head coach Dennis Allen told reporters that the team will have a plan in place early in the week for their starting quarterback. When asked if he'll announce the starter then, Allen said he hasn't "given that much thought," according to the Bay Area News Group.

What Allen did note is that he won't make a decision until he sees where Matt Schaub is physically on Monday. Schaub was not at the team's practice facility on Friday due to personal issues.

Rookie Derek Carr compiled 326 yards through the air while completing 30 of 45 passes, with four touchdowns and one interception this preseason.

Derek Carr fires three touchdown passes in preseason finale

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8/29/2014) Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr made a pretty strong case for himself to win the starting job during Thursday's preseason finale against the Seahawks.

Carr led the team to four touchdown drives, most of which came against Seattle's first unit. He hooked up with Denarius Moore for scores of 36 and 11 yards. He also fired a 20-yard touchdown pass to Mychal Rivera.

Matt Schaub has another disappointing night

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8/23/2014) Raiders quarterback Matt Schaub had another rough showing Friday night against the Packers in preseason play.

Schaub played into the first drive of the third quarter but was unable to complete half of his pass attempts. He found James Jones for a 14-yard touchdown strike after halftime, but the play was reversed after a replay challenge. He led the team to five straight three-and-outs. He was sacked twice and compiled 110 yards through the air while completing 13 of 27 passes, registering a 59.2 passer rating.

Schaub is 24 of 47 for 225 yards and no touchdowns with an interception through three preseason games. He's expected to be the starter come Week 1.

Matt Schaub picked off once in preseason game No. 2

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Schaub was picked off by James Ihedigbo on the opening drive of the game. He worked four series with the first-team offense and completed 8 of 13 pass attempts for 87 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. Through two exhibition games, he has completed 11 of 20 passes for 115 yards.
