Patriots DE Chandler Jones primed to return Week 15

(12/14/2014) Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones was ruled as active for Sunday's clash against Miami in Week 15. Jones missed his previous six games with a hip injury. His workload is yet to be determined, per a recent report from the Boston Herald.

Jones has 4.5 sacks through seven games played.

(12/13/2014) Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones (hip) has a chance to return from a six-game absence in Week 15 against Miami, the Boston Herald reports. If Jones does in fact return, he'll likely be used as a rotational pass rusher, spelling Akeem Ayers from time to time.

"I've been out for a little while, as we all know, so I've been wanting to play for the longest (time)," Jones said. "The competitor that I am and being around this team is a great feeling. Every day, I'm just doing what I can do to help the team."


Patriots list nine questionable for Sunday against the Dolphins

(12/12/2014) Patriots defensive lineman Dominique Easley is out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins with a knee injury. The Boston Herald reported earlier in the day the team is considering placing Easley on injured-reserve to have him healthy in 2015. 

The Patriots also listed nine players as questionable for Sunday including: Dont'a Hightower, Cameron Fleming, Brandon LaFell  Chandler Jones, Rob Ninkovich, Chris WhiteJulian Edelman, Dan Connolly and Shane Vereen

(12/7/2014) The Patriots have ruled the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 14 matchup against the Chargers: offensive tackle Cameron Fleming (ankle), defensive end Chandler Jones (hip), linebackers Dont'a Hightower (shoulder) and Chris White (ankle), cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, running back James White and offensive lineman Jordan Devey.

The Patriots had a lengthy list of questionable players on the team's final injury report, including inactives Fleming, Hightower and Jones. Chris White was doubtful to play in Week 14. The team had seven other questionable players as well as two probables, and all nine of those players are active.

(12/5/2014) As expected, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and offensive lineman Marcus Cannon (hip) were the only players deemed probable for Sunday's Week 14 clash against the Chargers. Linebacker Chris White (ankle) was ruled doubtful.

Meanwhile, the following players were designated as questionable for the game: Long snapper Danny Aiken (concussion), cornerback Kyle Arrington (ankle), offensive lineman Dan Connolly (ankle), defensive lineman Dominique Easley (knee), wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh) offensive lineman Cameron Fleming (ankle), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (shoulder), defensive end Chandler Jones (hip), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and running back Shane Vereen (ankle).

All 10 New England players that were listed as questionable were limited participants in practice the entire week leading up to the game.

Fleming, Jones and Chris White all came into the contest listed as qestionable. Fleming has ankle and finger injuries. Jones is dealing with a hip issue. Chris White has an ankle injury.

Eight have been given that designation, including running back Shane Vereen (ankle). The others are long snapper Danny Aiken (concussion), offensive linemen Dan Connolly (ankle) and Cameron Fleming (ankle/finger), defensive linemen Chandler Jones (hip) and Dominique Easley (knee), wideout Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and linebacker Chris White (ankle).

The probables are headlined by quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh). The other is offensive lineman Marcus Cannon (hip).

(11/14/2014) The Patriots are in good shape physically heading into their Sunday night game at Indianapolis. Only defensive Chandler Jones (hip), who is out, has received a worse designation than questionable.

The questionables are defensive lineman Dominique Easley (knee), defensive back Nate Ebner (finger) and offensive linemen Cameron Fleming (finger) and Ryan Wendell (knee).

Belichick would not give a timetable for Jones' potential return.

(10/26/2014) Patriots defense end Chandler Jones will not require hip surgery, but is expected to be sidelined a minimum of six weeks, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora on Sunday. Jones suffered the hip injury during Week 7 against the Jets and does not have a torn labrum, according to sources.

However, the injury could keep him sidelined for the remainder of the regular season, according to the Boston Globe. He remains hopeful of returning to action in time to make a playoff run for New England.

Jones suffered the hip injury during Week 7 and initial reports put him out for about a month. It appears his best-case scenario is now a return in Week 13, with the possibility he could need another month to recover. Jones has recorded a team-high 4.5 sacks.

(10/24/2014) The Patriots listed 13 players on their final injury report for their Week 8 home game against Chicago. Chandler Jones (hip) is the only player on the list to be ruled out for the game.

Shane Vereen was a late addition to the report because of an illness. He missed practice Friday and was labeled questionable. Dan Connolly (concussion), Dominique Easley (shoulder, knee), Nate Ebner (finger), Cameron Fleming (finger), Matthew Slater (shoulder) and Bryan Stork (concussion) were deemed questionable.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady (ankle), Brandon Browner (ankle), Jamie Collins (thigh), Dont'a Hightower (knee) and Devin McCourty (rib) were all full participants in Friday's practice session and officially ruled probable for Sunday.

Jones recorded four tackles and a sack in the team's Week 7 win over the Jets last Thursday after entering the contest listed as probable. He has posted 4.5 sacks over six games this season.

Brandon Browner , Jamie Collins, Dominique Easley, Dont'a Hightower and Matthew Slater are all active for the contest. All five players were listed as questionable coming into the game.

Cornerback Brandon Browner (ankle), linebacker Jamie Collins (thigh), defensive lineman Dominique Easley (shoulder, knee), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (knee), wide receiver Matthew Slater (shoulder) and center Bryan Stork (concussion) were all labeled questionable.
