Coach: Jeremy Lane to be 'down for a long time' after injury

(9/5/2014) Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane apparently suffered a serious injury during Thursday's season opener against the Packers, according to head coach Pete Carroll during Friday's press conference.

Lane will be "down for a long time" as a result of the injury, though further details are not yet known at this point. He exited Thursday's game during the third quarter, after aggravating a pre-existing injury.

(9/4/2014) Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane left Thursday's game against the Packers with a groin injury.

Lane dealt with a groin injury throughout the week, but was able to get through a full practice Friday. He was able to get through the first half of the game, but left in the third quarter after re-aggravating the injury.

Irvin and Lane were both considered probable prior to the game. Both players were able to participate in full practice Wednesday.

(9/3/2014) Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin was a full participant in Wednesday's practice and is listed as probable for Thursday's season opener against the Packers.

Wide receiver Kevin Norwood and defensive back Jeremy Lane were also full participants in Wednesday's practice. Both players are listed as probable.

Tight end Cooper Helfet, linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis and cornerback Tharold Simon all remained out of practice, and all three have been ruled out.


Christine Michael among Seahawks missing practice Tuesday

(9/2/2014) The Seahawks announced that the following players weren't able to practice Tuesday: running back Christine Michael (hamstring), tight end Cooper Helfet (knee), center Lemuel Jeanpierre (neck), linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (hamstring) and cornerback Tharold Simon (knee).

Additionally, the following players were limited participants in practice: wide receiver Kevin Norwood (ankle), linebacker Bruce Irvin (hip) and cornerback Jeremy Lane (groin).

With Michael unable to practice Tuesday, it's become more likely that he'll could sit out the team's Thursday night opener against the Packers.

(8/25/2014) Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sat out Monday's practice while recovering from a groin strain, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

"We don’t know how serious it is," Carroll said. "We did check it out and it looks like it’s going to be OK, but he’s gotta respond and come back. I don’t know, and we’ll just check him again tomorrow."

Lane suffered the injury in Friday's preseason game.


Five Seahawks ruled active for Week 16

(12/22/2013) Five Seahawks on the injury report were given the green light for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Kam Chancellor (quadriceps), Chris Clemons (not injury related), Jeremy Lane (ankle), Marshawn Lynch (not injury related) and Zach Miller (ribs) were all ruled active for Week 16. All five were probable leading up to the game.

(12/20/2013) Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman (hip) was held out of Friday's practice, but the team is not concerned about the injury. He is one of four defensive players listed as probable on the injury report for Week 16 against the Cardinals.

Sherman is joined by defensive backs Kam Chancellor (quadricep) and Jeremy Lane (ankle) and defensive end Chris Clemons (not injury related) as probable for Sunday's game.

(11/15/2013) The Seahawks' injury report for Week 11 against the Vikings features a lengthy list of defensive players, the vast majority of whom are expected to play through their injuries. Of the 11 defenders on the injury report, all but two are considered probable for Sunday's game.

The probables for Week 11 include: Defensive linemen Jordan Hill (biceps), Chris Clemons (not injury related), Tony McDaniel (hamstring) and Bruce Irvin (shoulder); defensive backs Jeremy Lane (thigh), Richard Sherman (hip), Kam Chancellor (hip) and Jeron Johnson (hamstring); and linebacker Heath Farwell (knee). All players were able to practice Friday and should be able to play.

(5/10/2012) The Seahawks made strides in improving its pass rush and creating depth on defense in the 2012 NFL Draft. They spent a first-round pick on West Virginia pass rush specialist Bruce Irvin and followed it up with Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner in Round 2. The rest of the haul includes Florida defensive tackle Jaye Howard, Idaho linebacker Korey Toomer, Northwestern State cornerback Jeremy Lane, Kentucky safety Winston Guy, N.C. State defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy and Louisville defensive tackle Greg Scruggs.
