Seahawks get contributions from several role players Week 3

(9/21/2014) The Seahawks received contributions from several role players in a Week 3 overtime win over the Broncos.

Robert Turbin was limited to only two carries for one yard. He caught his only target for a 4-yard gain. Bryan Walters had two catches for 22 yards, while Zach Miller caught two passes for 12 yards. Derrick Coleman and Paul Richardson were each limited to one grab. Coleman had 12 receiving yards, while Richardson finished with seven.


Seahawks backup receivers make the most of their chances

(9/5/2014) The Seahawks backup receivers made some big plays Thursday against the Packers.

Both Ricardo Lockette and Derrick Coleman came through on scoring plays. Lockette was targeted on a read-option play. After Russell Wilson kept the ball, he hit Lockette with a short pass after the cornerback bit on the play. Lockette broke a tackle on his way to scoring a 33 yard touchdown. He would finish with two catches for 38 yards. 

Coleman only made one catch, but made it count. With the team trying to run out the clock, Coleman caught a short pass on fourth down and managed to rumble in for the 15 yard score. 

Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse didn’t play a big role in the contest. Baldwin caught three balls, but only gained 11 yards. Kearse caught just one pass for 8 yards. Tight end Luke Willson chipped in too, hauling in one pass for one yard.

All five players will take on the Chargers Week 2.


Seahawks get offensive contributions

(12/29/2013) The Seahawks got several minor offensive contributions in their win over St. Louis. Among them, running back Robert Turbin ran seven times for 13 yards and tight end Zach Miller caught three of five targets for 21 yards.

Receiver Ricardo Lockette caught an 8-yard pass, running back Derrick Coleman had a 6-yard reception and receiver Doug Baldwin was targeted once without a catch.


Key Seahawks available vs. Rams

(12/29/2013) Several Seahawks who were on the injury report are active against the Rams, including running back Marshawn Lynch, who was probable with a non-injury related matter.

Cornerback Richard Sherman (hip), safety Earl Thomas (thigh), wideout Jermaine Kearse (ankle), defensive end Red Bryant (knee), running back Derrick Coleman (shoulder), offensive tackle Russell Okung (toe), linebacker Malcolm Smith (ankle) and guard J.R. Sweezy (concussion) are all active.

Marshawn Lynch is on the report yet again despite being healthy, after sitting out Wednesday's practice to rest. Both he and reserve Derrick Coleman are probable for Sunday's game.

(12/27/2013) Seahawks DE Red Bryant, RB Derrick Coleman, OL Russell Okung, CB Richard Sherman, LB Malcolm Smith, OL J.R. Sweezy and S Earl Thomas are probable Week 17.

Sherman has an ankle injury, but that hasn't stopped him from practicing in full all week. Thomas has a thigh injury, and practiced in full Thursday and Friday.


Seahawks get offensive contributions in easy victory

(12/3/2013) The Seahawks got several offensive contributions in their trouncing of New Orleans. Receiver Ricardo Lockette caught a 33-yard pass and lost 2 yards on a run. Wideout Jermaine Kearse caught two balls for 26 yards, and fullback Michael Robinson had a 21-yard grab.

Fullback Derrick Coleman hauled in a deflected pass for an 8-yard touchdown and carried twice for 3 yards. Tight end Luke Willson made a 2-yard catch.

They'll visit the 49ers in Week 14.

(11/8/2013) Four players listed on the Friday injury report for the Seahawks have been ruled out. They are defensive end Red Bryant (concussion), running back Derrick Coleman (hamstring), defensive tackle Jordan Hill (biceps) and center Max Unger (concussion).

Tackle Breno Giacomini (knee) is doubtful, safety Jeron Johnson (hamstring) is questionable and safety Kam Chancellor (ankle), defensive end Chris Clemons (not injury related) and running back Marshawn Lynch (knee) are probable.

(11/1/2013) Seahawks RB Derrick Coleman, T Breno Giacomini and SS Jeron Johnson have been ruled out Week 9 against the Buccaneers.

All three players were unable to participate in practice all week. Coleman and Johnson have been dealing with hamstring issues. Giacomini has a knee injury.

(10/13/2013) Seahawks backup pass catchers Jermaine Kearse, Luke Willson and Derrick Coleman failed to make an impact Week 6 against the Titans.

Kearse caught 3 balls, but only gained 17 yards. Willson matched that total, but did so on 2 catches. Coleman caught 1 pass for 6 yards.

(9/29/2013) Seahawks pass catchers Sidney Rice, Zach Miller and Derrick Coleman were held to one catch a piece against the Texans.

Rice caught just 1 ball on 5 targets, finishing with 11 yards. Miller wasn't much better, with 7 yards on 3 targets. Coleman caught his only target of the game for 4 yards. They'll face the Colts Week 5.


Derrick Coleman catches three passes

(9/8/2013) Seahawks running back Derrick Coleman did not pick up a carry Sunday, but was used in the passing game.

Coleman had three catches for 30 yards against the Panthers. He caught all three of his targets. Coleman will face off against the 49ers next week.
