Seahawks receivers stay quiet in Week 12 win vs. Cardinals

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11/23/2014) Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette led his team in receiving yards Sunday, catching his only target for 48 yards in his team's 19-3 win over the Cardinals in Week 12.

No one receiver was able to deliver a breakout performance on a day where the Seahawks led for most the game and attempted just 22 passes. Quarterback Russell Wilson hit nine different receivers with completions in the game, with tight end Tony Moeaki hauling in a team-high four catches for 34 yards.

Tight end Cooper Helfet caught both of his targets for 27 yards and a touchdown, doing most of the work on the 20-yard score after catching the ball behind the line of scrimmage. Tight end Luke Willson (21 yards) and wide receivers Jermaine Kearse (19 yards) and Kevin Norwood (10 yards) each managed just one catch. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin caught two passes but for only six yards.

The Seahawks face a quick turnaround, with a Thursday night matchup with the 49ers on the schedule for Week 13.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/26/2014) The Seahawks backup receivers did little Week 8 against the Panthers.

Luke Willson had just one catch, but made the biggest impact. He hauled in the game-winning touchdown pass with under a minute left in the game. He finished with 23 yards. Ricardo Lockette had two catches, and finished with 22 yards. Paul Richardson also had two catches, gaining 20 yards. Jermaine Kearse clocked in with 15 yards on the day, and Kevin Norwood had 13 yards. Tight end Cooper Helfet caught one pass for 11 yards.

They'll look for more Week 9 against the Raiders.

Cooper Helfet probably not worth your time

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/19/2014) When you see that tight end Cooper Helfet had 61 yards on three catches, including an impressive 19-yard touchdown in which he caught the ball over the top of a defender while keeping his feet in bounds, your natural reaction might be to say, "Hey, it's because Percy Harvin is no longer with the team."

But that wasn't the biggest contributing factor to his performance. Above all, he saw more time on the field because the Seahawks' top two tight ends, Zach Miller and Luke Willson, were sidelined by injuries. Miller has now missed three games following ankle surgery and will likely miss a couple more, but Willson (groin) was a game-time decision for Week 7. He could certainly return in Week 8.

True, maybe Helfet's touchdown grab earns him a bigger slice of the pie going forward, but sharing the tight end spot on a run-first team probably won't yield much in Fantasy. Again, even in this one, he had just three catches total.

Seahawks TE Cooper Helfet steps up

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/19/2014) With the Seahawks missing their top two tight ends, Cooper Helfet stepped up Week 7 at St. Louis, catching three of six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. Helfet made a highlight-worthy play in the fourth quarter when he tapped his toes for a 19-yard score.

He'll visit Carolina in Week 8.

Seahawks' pass catchers do little Week 6

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/12/2014) The Seahawks' passing game was atrocious in Week 6. Aside from Jermaine Kearse, who caught three passes for 62 yards, no other wideout or tight end had more than two catches or 32 yards.

Receiver Doug Baldwin caught two of three targets for 32 yards, while tight end Luke Willson secured two of six targets for 11 yards. Wideout Ricardo Lockette had an 8-yard catch, tight end Cooper Helfet a 7-yarder.

Receiver Bryan Walters mustered a 5-yard grab on three targets.

Seahawks' role players step up Week 5

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/7/2014) The Seahawks got offensive contributions from several role players in their Week 5 win at Washington. Tight end Cooper Helfet made a 36-yard catch on two targets, and tight end Luke Willson caught three of four targets for 28 yards.

Holder Jon Ryan executed a fake field goal, picking up a first down with a 5-yard run.
