Bucs' Jorvorskie Lane suffers broken bone in leg, out for season

(11/24/2014) Buccaneers fullback Jorvorskie Lane suffered a broken bone in his lower right leg Sunday and will be out for the remainder of the season, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Lane will have surgery Tuesday and be placed on injured reserve. In nine games, Lane has three rushing attempts for 58 yards.


Bucs backup runners do little Week 12

(11/23/2014) The Buccaneers backup running backs did little Week 12 against the Bears.

Charles Sims got the most work, gaining 22 yards on six carries. He also caught two passes for 11 receiving yards. Bobby Rainey received just one carry, gaining 3 yards. He was a much bigger threat in the passing game, picking up three receptions for 18 yards. Fullback Jorvorskie Lane carried the ball one time for 2 yards.

They'll take on the Bengals Week 13.

(10/15/2014) The NFL suspended Buccaneers fullback Jorvorskie Lane two games for violating league policy on performance-enhancing substances. He has played in every game this season, serving as a lead blocker and rushing twice for 56 yards.

(9/28/2014) Several Buccaneers receivers and running backs made small contributions in a Week 4 upset of Pittsburgh.

The most significant were tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and wideout Russell Shepard. The former caught three passes for 44 yards while the latter snagged two for 30 yards.

Fellow wideout Solomon Patton made the most of his opportunity, racing 19 yards on an end-around. Jorvorskie Lane added one carry for two yards while Bobby Rainey managed the same yardage on four attempts while catching one pass for 16 yards.

(9/14/2014) The Buccaneers got minor contribution from a couple of role players in Week 2 loss to the Rams. Wide receiver Robert Herron caught two of his three targets for 13 yard. Fullback Jorvorskie Lane was limited to just one reception for a 3-yard gain.

(8/12/2013) The Dolphins are going to keep "one fullback at most," according to the Miami Herald. They might let H-back Charles Clay fill the fullback role in addition to his tight end duties and cut fullbacks Jorvorskie Lane and Evan Rodriguez.

The fullbacks' spots are in jeopardy because offensive coordinator Mike Sherman "likes using Clay and tight end Dustin Keller in the lineup at the same time," the Herald said.


Jorvorskie Lane returns to action

(8/10/2013) Dolphins fullback Jorvorskie Lane, who missed his previous practice with an apparent leg injury, returned to action in Friday's exhibition game against the Jaguars. Lane made a few nice blocks, which helped his team rush for over 106 yards on the ground. He did not receive a carry in a 27-3 win.

(8/8/2013) The Dolphins have listed their injuries for Friday's preseason game at Jacksonville, reports the Miami Herald.

The players who are expected to play include: running back Lamar Miller (ankle), fullback Jorvorskie Lane (unknown), linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, defensive lineman Jared Odrick (groin), receiver Brian Hartline (calf) and defensive lineman Olivier Vernon (groin).

Receiver Mike Wallace's status remains unknown since he missed the Hall of Fame game with a groin injury, and defensive lineman Randy Starks (knee) and offensive lineman John Jerry (knee) and cornerback Jamar Taylor (hernia) are out.

(12/16/2012) Dolphins fullback Jorvorskie Lane scored his third touchdown of the season Sunday against the Jaguars in Week 15. Lane brought in a 4-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill in the game, his first receiving score of the year. The Dolphins won, 29-17. He added another catch for 2 yards in the game.
