Burfict among Bengals inactives Week 12 at Houston

(11/23/2014) Bengals wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher, running back Rex Burkhead, cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, linebacker Vontaze Burfict, offensive tackle Tanner Hawkinson, wide receiver Greg Little and defensive end Margus Hunt were all ruled inactive Week 12 at Houston.

(10/26/2014) The Bengals have listed the following players as inactive for Week 8's matchup with the Ravens: wide receiver A.J. Green (toe), linebacker Rey Maualuga (hamstring), defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee), running back Rex Burkhead, cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, offensive tackle Tanner Hawkinson and defensive end Will Clarke.

Green will miss his third straight game while dealing with a nagging toe injury, and an earlier report Sunday pegged his chances at playing in Week 9 at 70 percent. Maualuga had been ruled out on the team's final Week 8 injury report, while Thompson had been listed as questionable.


Big names among Bengals inactives for clash against Colts

(10/19/2014) Stud wideout A.J. Green is the standout among the seven inactives for the Bengals on Sunday against host Indianapolis. But several other injured players are on the list.

They are linebackers Emmanuel Lamur (shoulder) and Rey Maualuga (hamstring) and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson (knee).

The healthy scratches are cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, tackle Tanner Hawkinson and defensive end Will Clarke.

Also sitting out are defensive linemen Will Clarke and Brandon Thompson (knee), offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler (calf), defensive back Chris Lewis-Harris and running back Rex Burkhead (knee).

(9/15/2014) Bengals defensive back Chris Lewis-Harris has been activated on a two-day roster exemption Monday, the team announced, as he works his way back from suspension. Lewis-Harris missed the first two games due to his suspension, and will have to be added to the 53-man roster before he can play in Week 3. 

Bengals make flurry of moves Saturday

(8/30/2014) The Bengals made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Among those moves was the placement of guard Trey Hopkins on the reserve/injured list with a leg issue. Rookie quarterback AJ McCarron was put on the reserve/non-football injury list with a shoulder problem.

The Bengals also cut the following offensive players: tackles Dan France and Will Svitek, wide receivers Colin Lockett and Cobi Hamilton, center Trevor Robinson and running backs James Wilder and Nikita Whitlock.

Defenders waived by the Bengals include safety Danieal Manning, cornerbacks Onterio McCalebb and Victor Hampton, tackles Devon Still and David King and ends Sam Montgomery and Dontay Moch.

Cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris will begin serving a two-game drug suspension handed dowsn by the league.


Bengals elevate Chris Lewis-Harris to live roster, drop Tony Dye

(12/12/2013) The loss of Terence Newman for at least one week with a knee injury motivated the Bengals to promote cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris from the practice squad on Thursday and release safety Tony Dye .

Lewis-Harris spent seven weeks on the active roster this year and made three tackles in three games played.

Of the seven players listed, five were dealing with injuries: linebackers Michael Boley (hamstring) and Rey Maualuga (concussion, knee); defensive lineman Devon Still (elbow); running back Rex Burkhead (hamstring); and tackle Andrew Whitworth (knee).

(8/31/2013) The Bengals have announced that veteran offensive lineman Dennis Roland, who started 24 games for them in 2009 and 2010, has been waived.

The move was one of many cuts by the team on Saturday. The following players have also been released: wide receivers Cobi Hamilton, Taveon Rogers and Roy Roundtree, linebackers Bruce Taylor and J.K. Schaffer, cornerbacks Chris Lewis-Harris, Onterio McCalebb and Shaun Prater, offensive tackle Reid Fragel, safety Tony Dye, halfback Dan Herron, center T.J. Johnson, defensive end Dontay Moch, quarterback John Skelton, defensive tackle Terrence Stephens and guard John Sullen.

The Bengals also placed running back Bernard Scott (knee) on the Reserve/PUP list and linebacker Emmanuel Lamur (shoulder) on the Reserve/Injured list.
