All five of the players have not participated in practice throughout the week. Cruz had surgery on his knee, so his status shouldn't come as a surprise.

Giants defense in decent shape with injuries

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/27/2013) The Giants head into Week 4 against the Chiefs with a considerable number of players listed on the injury report. Fortunately, the defense should be at least relatively healthy, as the players with the best chance of taking the field Sunday are all on that side of the ball.
