Chiefs move Mike Catapano to IR

(9/25/2014) The Chiefs moved defensive end Mike Catapano, who has been out for a month with an undisclosed illness, from the reserve/non-football illness list to injured reserve, according to The Kansas City Star.

"I think that’s where we’re at," head coach Andy Reid said. "What he went through, that was a long process. So it’s better that he just steps back, gets himself back healthy and feeling good and then we go from there."


Chiefs pare roster down to 53

(8/30/2014) The Chiefs have announced their final round of cuts and other moves to reach the league-mandated roster of 53 players.

Among the offensive players let go are fullback Jordan Campbell, wide receivers Fred Williams and Mark Harrison, guard Ricky Henry, tackle J'Marcus Webb and running back Charcandrick West.

The defensive players gone from the roster are safeties Jonathon Amaya and Malcolm Bronson, linemen Dominique Hamilton, Kyle Love and Kona Schwenke, linebackers Alonzo Highsmith, Devan Walker and Nico Johnson and cornerbacks Justin Rogers and DeMarcus Van Dyke .

The Chiefs have also placed Tyler Bray and Kyle Williams on IR and Mike Catapano on the non-football injury list.


Chiefs announce inactives for Thursday game

(8/28/2014) The Chiefs have announced their inactives for their Thursday preseason finale in Green Bay. Only linebacker Joe Mays (wrist) and wideout Junior Hemingway (hip) are listed as injured.

The other inactives are tackle Eric Fisher, defensive end Mike Catapano, wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and linebacker Tamba Hali.

(8/23/2014) The Chiefs unveiled their inactive list for Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, and it features 11 players not in uniform for the game.

The players list as inactive are: defensive backs Eric Berry (heel) and Damond Smith; wide receivers Dwayne Bowe and Junior Hemingway (hip); running back Charcandrick West; offensive lineman Ryan McKee; linebackers Josh Mauga and Joe Mays (wrist); and defensive linemen Mike DeVito, Kona Schwenke and Mike Catapano

All four players were able to practice in full every day this week. Jackson is dealing with an abdomen injury.

Five Chiefs ready to go Week 12

(11/24/2013) Chiefs DE Mike Catapano, S Sanders Commings, TE Anthony Fasano, LB Derrick Johnson and RB Anthony Sherman are active Week 12 against the Chargers.

Despite struggling with injuries, all five players were able to participate in full practice each day this week. Fasano and Sherman are both dealing with knee issues.


Chiefs list five defenders on injury report

(11/22/2013) Defensive players dominate the injury report released by the Chiefs on Friday. They are in various stages of recovery. Included is end Mike DeVito, who has been ruled out with a knee injury.

Listed as questionable on that side of the ball is end Tyson Jackson (abdomen). Fellow end Mike Catapano (ankle) is probable, as are defensive back Sanders Commings (shoulder) and linebacker Derrick Johnson (wrist).

They include tight ends Anthony Fasano (knee, ankle) and Sean McGrath (knee), defensive end Mike Catapano (ankle), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee, calf).

All the injured players were listed as probable.

(11/15/2013) The Chiefs are quite healthy as they prepare for their AFC West showdown in Denver. They list seven players on their injury report, but all are probable.

They are wide receivers Dexter McCluster (ankle) and Donnie Avery (shoulder), defensive end Mike Catapano (ankle), tight ends Sean McGrath (knee) and Anthony Fasano (knee/ankle), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee/calf).


Only one injured Chiefs player among inactives

Other than him, the list is all healthy scratches for Sunday's game: Tyler Bray, Jaye Howard, Nico Johnson, Eric Kush, Bradley McDougald and Rokevious Watkins.  


Chiefs defense only missing one Sunday

Defensive backs Kendrick Lewis (ankle) and Ron Parker (toe), as well as linebacker Dezman Moses (toe) were all able to play through their injuries Sunday. 


Chiefs record not all that's in fine shape heading into Week 9

All others on their Friday injury report are probable, including tight ends Anthony Fasano (knee/ankle) and Sean McGrath (knee), tackle Eric Fisher (knee/back), safety Kendrick Lewis (ankle), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe), defensive back Ron Parker (toe) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee/calf).
