Key Chiefs cleared for action

(10/5/2014) Several Chiefs who were on the injury report are active for the game at San Francisco. They include linebackers Tamba Hali (knee) and Frank Zombo (hamstring), cornerbacks Sean Smith (groin) and Marcus Cooper (knee), and running back De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring).

(10/3/2014) As expected, Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery (groin) and safety Eric Berry (ankle) have been ruled out for the Week 5 game at San Francisco. The only other non-probable is cornerback Marcus Cooper (knee), who is questionable.

Running back Jamaal Charles (ankle) and linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) headline a group of probables. The others are cornerback Sean Smith (groin), running back De'Anthony Thomas and linebacker Frank Zombo (hamstring).

(9/14/2014) The Chiefs probables should be good to go Week 2 against the Broncos.

Safety Husain Abdullah, S Eric Berry, WR Dwayne Bowe, CB Marcus Cooper, LB Tamba Hali, WR Frankie Hammond Jr., WR Junior Hemingway, C Eric Kush and LB Josh Martin all came into the game listed as probable. They are all active Week 2. 


Chiefs defense in good health for Week 2

(9/12/2014) The Chiefs have five players on the injury report for Week 2 against the Broncos, but as of Friday all are expected to play in Sunday's game.

Defensive backs Eric Berry (heel/quad), Husain Abdullah (quad) and Marcus Cooper (ankle), along with linebacker Josh Martin (quad) are all probable for Sunday's game after getting through the week in practice without issue.

Linebacker Tamba Hali (ankle/knee) was limited throughout the week, but is still considered probable for the game.

Deemed questionable were center Eric Kush (shoulder) and cornerback Marcus Cooper (ankle). Wide receiver A.J. Jenkins (concussion), Eric Berry (heel), defensive lineman Mike DeVito (hand), linebacker Tamba Hali (knee), wide receiver Junior Hemingway (hip), linebacker Josh Martin (quad), defensive lineman Vance Walker (hand), wide receiver Albert Wilson (ankle), fullback Anthony Sherman (back) and linebacker Frank Zombo (groin).

(12/9/2013) Chiefs defensive back Marcus Cooper bruised his back Week 14 at Washington and had to leave the game. He had three tackles, all solo, before leaving.

Cooper, a rookie, is averaging 2.8 tackles in 13 games this season. He does have three interceptions, though.

(10/6/2013) Chiefs rookie defensive back Marcus Cooper, who had contributed almost nothing statistically coming into the game, had his first ever fumble recovery Week 5 at Tennessee, picking up a muffed punt in the end zone for his first ever touchdown. He then recorded his first ever interception in the fourth quarter.

Cooper also had two tackles, one solo. He entered the game with just four tackles all year.

(9/1/2013) The Chiefs claimed seven players off waivers: wideout Chad Hall (San Francisco), tight end Sean McGrath (Seattle), linebackers Dezman Moses (Green Bay) and James-Michael Johnson (Cleveland), defensive backs Ron Parker (Seattle) and Marcus Cooper (San Francisco) and defensive lineman Jaye Howard (Seattle).

To make room, Kansas City released wideout Devon Wylie, tight end Kevin Brock, defensive lineman Jerrell Powe, linebacker Zac Diles and defensive backs Jalil Brown and Bradley McDougald.


49ers trim roster down to 53

(8/31/2013) The 49ers finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by placing defensive tackle Demarcus Dobbs on the Reserve/Suspended List by the NFL.
