Five injured Chiefs ready to roll Week 15

(12/15/2013) The following players on the injury report were ruled active for the Chiefs in Week 15 against the Raiders: defensive back Marcus Cooper (back), linebacker Nico Johnson (ankle), tight end Sean McGrath (knee), defensive back Ron Parker (shoulder) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee, ankle).

(12/13/2013) Six Chiefs have been designated as probable for the Sunday battle against Oakland. They are cornerback Marcus Cooper (back), center Rodney Hudson (elbow), linebacker Nico Johnson (elbow), tight end Sean McGrath (knee), defensive back Ron Parker (shoulder) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee/ankle).

(12/9/2013) Chiefs defensive back Marcus Cooper bruised his back Week 14 at Washington and had to leave the game. He had three tackles, all solo, before leaving.

Cooper, a rookie, is averaging 2.8 tackles in 13 games this season. He does have three interceptions, though.

(10/6/2013) Chiefs rookie defensive back Marcus Cooper, who had contributed almost nothing statistically coming into the game, had his first ever fumble recovery Week 5 at Tennessee, picking up a muffed punt in the end zone for his first ever touchdown. He then recorded his first ever interception in the fourth quarter.

Cooper also had two tackles, one solo. He entered the game with just four tackles all year.

(10/6/2013) Chiefs defensive back Kendrick Lewis (ankle), who was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, is active for Week 5 at Tennessee. So are offensive lineman Jeff Allen (groin), offensive lineman Jon Asamoah (knee), punter Dustin Colquitt (knee), defensive back Marcus Cooper (knee, thigh), offensive lineman Rodney Hudson (shin) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee), who were listed as probable.

(9/1/2013) The Chiefs claimed seven players off waivers: wideout Chad Hall (San Francisco), tight end Sean McGrath (Seattle), linebackers Dezman Moses (Green Bay) and James-Michael Johnson (Cleveland), defensive backs Ron Parker (Seattle) and Marcus Cooper (San Francisco) and defensive lineman Jaye Howard (Seattle).

To make room, Kansas City released wideout Devon Wylie, tight end Kevin Brock, defensive lineman Jerrell Powe, linebacker Zac Diles and defensive backs Jalil Brown and Bradley McDougald.


49ers trim roster down to 53

(8/31/2013) The 49ers finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by placing defensive tackle Demarcus Dobbs on the Reserve/Suspended List by the NFL.

In addition, the 49ers waived the following 21 players from the roster: tackle Carter Bykowski, wide receiver Austin Collie, cornerback Marcus Cooper, tight end MarQueis Gray, wide receiver Chad Hall, running back Jewel Hampton, wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, linebacker Joe Holland, wide receiver Chuck Jacobs, tight end Brian Jennings, linebacker Travis Johnson, cornerback Darryl Morris, guard Patrick Omameh, wide receiver Kassim Osgood, defensive tackle Mike Purcell, safety Trenton Robinson, fullback Jason Schepler, safety Michael Thomas, guard Wayne Tribue, quarterback Seneca Wallace and tackle Kenny Wiggins.
