Darryl Morris spotted wearing a brace on left leg

(9/29/2014) Texans cornerback Darryl Morris, who came down with the game-ending interception late in the fourth quarter to clinch a 23-17 win over the Bills in Week 4, was spotted wearing a brace on his left leg on Monday, per the Houston Chronicle. When asked if he'll play against the Cowboys in Week 5, Morris referred all injury questions to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Morris has registered 14 tackles on the year (12 solo), along with four defended passes and one interception.


Niners make flurry of moves Saturday

(8/30/2014) The 49ers made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Among those moves was the placement of cornerback Kenneth Acker and fullback Will Tukuafu on the injured reserve list.

San Francisco cut the following players: T Carter Bykowski, TE Asante Cleveland, WR Lance Lewis, LS Kevin McDermott, CB Darryl Morris, G Al Netter, DL Lawrence Okoye, WR Kassim Osgood, T Michael Philipp, NT Mike Purcell, G Ryan Seymour, LB Shayne Skov, RB Alfonso Smith, G Adam Snyder, S C.J. Spillman, LB Chase Thomas, S Raymond Ventrone, WR L'Damian Washington and RB Glenn Winston.

49ers makes moves on defense

(9/24/2013) The 49ers promoted cornerback Darryl Morris from the practice squad to the active roster, a sign Nnamdi Asomugha's knee injury might keep him out Thursday in St. Louis, reports the San Jose Mercury News. Morris is an undrafted rookie out of Texas State.

To fill Morris' spot on the practice squad, the 49ers signed linebacker D'Aundre Reed.

(8/31/2013) The 49ers finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by placing defensive tackle Demarcus Dobbs on the Reserve/Suspended List by the NFL.

In addition, the 49ers waived the following 21 players from the roster: tackle Carter Bykowski, wide receiver Austin Collie, cornerback Marcus Cooper, tight end MarQueis Gray, wide receiver Chad Hall, running back Jewel Hampton, wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, linebacker Joe Holland, wide receiver Chuck Jacobs, tight end Brian Jennings, linebacker Travis Johnson, cornerback Darryl Morris, guard Patrick Omameh, wide receiver Kassim Osgood, defensive tackle Mike Purcell, safety Trenton Robinson, fullback Jason Schepler, safety Michael Thomas, guard Wayne Tribue, quarterback Seneca Wallace and tackle Kenny Wiggins.
