Marcus Burley expected to fill in at nickel corner

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/6/2014) Seahawks cornerback Marcus Burley, who was recently acquired from the Colts, is expected to fill the void for the Jeremy Lane (groin) at nickel corner, the Seattle Times reports. Burley played 25 snaps Week 1 against Green Bay after Lane went down with the injury.

"He did well," head coach Pete Carroll said. "He did a good job. He had a really good challenge route down the field and did a nice job the one time (Randall) Cobb got up on him and knocked the ball away — it was a beautiful play. He's looked really solid in practice and we really liked the kid coming in and he did a fantastic job of being ready to play in that game down the stretch and so we are really pleased. He will play for Jeremy at this time — we have no other alternatives that we think of at this point. But we are real happy with what he did."
