Broncos re-sign defensive end Gerald Rivers to practice squad

(12/10/2014) The Broncos have re-signed defensive end Gerald Rivers to their practice squad. Rivers was released by the Broncos Dec. 4 to sign kicker Brandon McManus. 

Rivers has been on the Dolphins and Jaguars practice squads over the last two years as well.

(8/29/2014) The Jaguars have parted with 15 players Friday.

Offensive linemen Michael Brewster and Drew Nowak were among the casualties. Defensive end Gerald Rivers and QB Ricky Stanzi were also cut. The team also parted ways with WR Chad Bumphis, FB Eric Kettani, TE Brandon Barden, OL Cody Booth, DL Deandre Coleman, DT Ricky Havili-Heimuli, S Craig Loston, QB Stephen Morris, K Kasey Redfern, OL Tyler Shatley, TE D.J. Tialavea and LB Marcus Whitfield.

(12/29/2013) The Jaguars have made QB Ricky Stanzi, CB Dwayne Gratz, RB Delone Carter, LB Geno Hayes, TE Allen Reisner, OL Patrick Lewis and DE Gerald Rivers inactive Week 17.

Both Hayes and Gratz were ruled out prior to Sunday. The other five players were not listed on the injury report, and are healthy scratches.

Stanzi, Carter, Lewis, Reisner and Rivers are all healthy scratches.

McGee was the only player listed on the team's injury report entering the game. He was questionable due to a foot injury.

(8/28/2013) Rams defensive end Gerald Rivers, an undrafted rookie out of Ole Miss, could make the team with a strong performance Thursday against the Ravens, reports ESPN.com. Rivers "held his own" when he worked with the first-team defense against Green Bay, and coach Jeff Fisher and his staff place a premium on pass rushers like Rivers, the report said.
