Jamaal Charles, Travis Kelce ready to go for Chiefs

(11/16/2014) The Chiefs will have Jamaal Charles and Travis Kelce available Week 11 against the Seahawks. 

The news isn't really a surprise; both players were listed as probable heading into the game. The team will have all their probable players available for the contest. Tamba Hali, Josh Martin, Josh Mauga and Sean Smith are all active.

Cornerback Phillip Gaines, who came into the game listed as questionable, will attempt to play through his injuries. 


Cornerbacks dominate injury report issued Friday by Chiefs

(11/14/2014) Four Chiefs defensive backs have landed on the Friday injury report for their Sunday game against Kansas City. But only Jamell Fleming (hamstring) has been ruled out. Phillip Gaines (quad/ankle) and Chris Owens (knee) are questionable while Sean Smith (groin) is probable.

The others ruled out by the Chiefs are wideouts A.J. Jenkins (shoulder) and Donnie Avery (groin). The other questionable is tight end Anthony Fasano (knee). Headlining the probables are linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) and featured back Jamaal Charles (shoulder/elbow). Also probable are tight end Travis Kelce (ribs) and linebackers Josh Mauga (groin) and Josh Martin (hamstring/knee).

(11/7/2014) Every designation but doubtful is represented on a rather lengthy injury report submitted by the Chiefs for their Sunday game against Buffalo. Those ruled out are wide receiver Donnie Avery (groin), defensive back Jamell Fleming (hamstring) and linebacker Jerry Franklin (hamstring).

Among the questionables are cornerbacks Chris Owens (knee) and Phillip Gaines (ankle/quad) and linebacker Josh Martin (hamstring/knee). The probables are safety Eric Berry (ankle), running back Cyrus Gray (hand), linebacker Tamba Hali (knee), wideout Junior Hemingway (hamstring), tight end Travis Kelce (ribs) and cornerback Sean Smith (groin).

Donnie Avery, Jamell Fleming, Josh Martin and Chris Owens will not take part in the contest. Avery has been dealing with a groin injury. He's missed the past three games due to the issue.

(9/19/2014) The Chiefs have issued their injury report Friday for their Sunday game against the host Dolphins. Safety Eric Berry (ankle) and running back De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) have been ruled out.

Aside from running back Jamaal Charles, who is questionable with an ankle injury, everyone else is probable. They are linebackers Tamba Hali (ankle/knee) and Josh Martin (quad/tricep), safety Husain Abdullah (ankle/quad), running back Cyrus Gray (foot) and center Eric Kush (shoulder).

Safety Husain Abdullah, S Eric Berry, WR Dwayne Bowe, CB Marcus Cooper, LB Tamba Hali, WR Frankie Hammond Jr., WR Junior Hemingway, C Eric Kush and LB Josh Martin all came into the game listed as probable. They are all active Week 2. 


Chiefs defense in good health for Week 2

(9/12/2014) The Chiefs have five players on the injury report for Week 2 against the Broncos, but as of Friday all are expected to play in Sunday's game.

Defensive backs Eric Berry (heel/quad), Husain Abdullah (quad) and Marcus Cooper (ankle), along with linebacker Josh Martin (quad) are all probable for Sunday's game after getting through the week in practice without issue.

Linebacker Tamba Hali (ankle/knee) was limited throughout the week, but is still considered probable for the game.

Chiefs place Sanders Commings on IR

(11/30/2013) The Chiefs placed defensive back Sanders Commings on injured reserve Saturday, with a re-aggravation of a shoulder injury.  He had been on IR earlier in the season as a result of the injury, but had been cleared to play a few weeks ago.

Linebacker Josh Martin was signed from the practice squad to take Commings' place on the active roster.
