Third-string TE Josh Hill catches a pair of touchdowns

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12/16/2014) Saints third-string tight end Josh Hill is up to five touchdowns this season after catching a pair in Monday's 31-15 win at Chicago. Both scores came on the same play.

Drew Brees faked a handoff, rolled right and found Hill open in the flat for 8- and 7-yard touchdowns in the first half. Those were Hill's only two targets.

He'll face Atlanta on Sunday.

Saints' role players held in check Week 11

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/16/2014) The Saints received minor contributions from several role players in Week 11 against Cincinnati.

Brian Leonard caught his lone target for 15 yards. Joe Morgan was also held to one grab, but finished with only 7 yards. Erik Lorig caught all four of his targets for 5 yards. Josh Hill was targeted once and held without a grab.

Saints get offensive contributions Week 7

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/19/2014) The Saints received several offensive contributions in their Week 7 loss at Detroit. Among them, rookie wideout Brandin Cooks caught two of his three targets for 23 yards. Fullback Austin Johnson made a 13-yard touchdown grab and added a 5-yard rush.

Tight end Josh Hill caught an 8-yard pass, and tight end Benjamin Watson had a 3-yard grab. Wideout Robert Meachem was targeted three times without a catch.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham likely a game-time decision for Week 7

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/17/2014) Saints tight end Jimmy Graham told reporters he's unsure if he'll play Week 7 at Detroit because of a nagging shoulder injury, according to ESPN. Graham told reporters Friday he believes his status will come down to the coach's evaluation during pregame warmups.

Graham suffered a shoulder sprain Week 5 against Tampa Bay but returned to practice for the first time as a limited participant on Thursday. He was a limited participant on Friday as well and has been officially ruled as questionable. If he's unable to play on Sunday, the team will likely turn to Josh Hill and Benjamin Watson for all the tight end targets against the Lions.

Sizing up the Saints' tight end situation

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/16/2014) Although coach Sean Payton has been less than forthcoming about the situation, odds are Jimmy Graham misses Week 7 at Detroit with the shoulder sprain he suffered in Week 5, before the bye. The Saints  will have to turn to others at tight end.

Those others figure to be Josh Hill and Benjamin Watson. Jamey Eisenberg prefers one. Dave Richard prefers the other. Neither likes either enough to start in a standard 12-team league.

Part of the problem is that both contributed about the same numbers in Week 5, when Graham suffered the injury. Watson got more than twice as many targets, but Hill actually got a little more yardage. Of course, Watson also played 86 percent of the team's snaps to Hill's 35 percent.

To me, that's reason enough to side with Watson, but he'll get enough interference from Hill that we're talking only deep leagues here, as in 16 teams or more.

Josh Hill, Benjamin Watson fill in for injured Jimmy Graham Week 5

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/5/2014) Saints tight ends Josh Hill and Benjamin Watson each filled in for an injured Jimmy Graham (shoulder) in a Week 5 overtime victory over Tampa Bay at home on Sunday.

Hill caught a 37-yard pass from Drew Brees in the second quarter for his longest gain of the afternoon. He caught all three of the passes thrown his way for 53 yards. Watson came down with catches for 12, 13, 5, 1 and 11 yards on the afternoon. He caught seven of the five passes thrown his way for 43 yards in a 37-31 overtime victory.

The Saints have a bye week before facing the Lions at Ford Field in Week 7. If Graham is unavailable to play, the team will likely turn to these two tight ends at Detroit.

What to do if Vernon Davis doesn't play

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/26/2014) 49ers tight end Vernon Davis obviously makes for a risky play in Week 4 against the Eagles, as he is a game-time decision with an ankle injury.

Davis will try to test out his ankle before the game, so we should know his status around 90 minutes before their 4:25 pm EST kickoff. If you have a Davis replacement ready to slide into the lineup, make sure it is someone set to play at 4:00 pm EST or later.

Some options to consider might be Ladarius Green of the Chargers (50 percent owned), Travis Kelce (69 percent) or Anthony Fasano (3 percent) of the Chiefs, Josh Hill of the Saints (0 percent), or Davis' backup Derek Carrier (3 percent).

Josh Hill snags only two - but takes one of them to the house

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/21/2014) Saints tight end Josh Hill managed just two catches Sunday against Minnesota, but one of them was a biggie.

Hill gave his team a 13-0 lead late in the first quarter with a 34-yard touchdown. He got wide open when Vikings safety Robert Blanton slipped and was late coming over. Hill finished with 48 yards on his pair of receptions.

He will try for greater production when his team plays at Dallas next Sunday night.

Several Saints make small contributions in defeat

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(1/11/2014) Three receivers and one running back chipped in with minor contributions for the Saints against Seattle on Saturday.

Tight end Josh Hill caught one pass for 23 yards, wide receiver Lance Moore snagged two for 20 yards and tight end Benjamin Watson went nowehere with one reception. Running back Darren Sproles outdid them all through the air with 32 yards on five catches, but ran for just 2 yards in three carries.

Saints get contributions from role players in Wild Card win

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1/5/2014) The Saints received contributions from several role players during Saturday's Wild Card victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia.

Robert Meachem caught his only target -- a 40-yard pass from Drew Brees in the fourth quarter. Kenny Stills was targeted four times and finished with three grabs for 35 yards while Benjamin Watson and Josh Hill only had one catch. Watson finished with 27 yards and Hill ended the game with nine yards. In the running game, Khiry Robinson finished as the team's second-leading rusher, with eight carries for 45 yards (5.6 yards per carry).

Many Saints chip in to win

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/29/2013) Several Saints made their presences felt in a rout of Tampa Bay on Sunday. The most significant was running back Khiry Robinson, who finished with a a game-high 50 yards on 12 carries. Fellow running back Mark Ingram added 20 yards on three attempts while fullback Jed Collins had three yards on two tries and one reception for two yards.

Running back Darren Sproles chipped in with two catches for 30 yards, tight end Josh Hill caught a pass for 8 yards and tight end Benjamin Watson snagged one for 7 yards.

All seven were able to get through full practice Friday. Thomas is dealing with an eye injury, but should play.

(12/22/2013) The Saints have listed DE Tom Johnson, OLB Keyunta Dawson, S Rafael Bush, RB Travaris Cadet, WR Nick Toon, TE Josh Hill and QB Ryan Griffin as inactive Week 16 against the Panthers.

Cadet was listed as probable on the team's injury report entering the game, but will not go. Dawson and Hill were questionable. Bush was listed as doubtful.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/15/2013) Safety Rafael Bush (ankle), tight end Josh Hill (hamstring) and linebacker Keyunta Dawson (calf) are the lone injured players on the inactive list released Sunday by the Saints.

The healthy inactives are quarterback Ryan Griffin, wideout Nick Toon, cornerback Trevin Wade and defensive end Tyrunn Walker.

Five catch one for Saints in defeat of San Francisco

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/17/2013) Saints running back Mark Ingram ran for 25 yards on six carries and added a 4-yard catch to lead a group of minor contributors Sunday in a win over the 49ers.

Others that caught one pass were wideouts Kenny Stills (11 yards) and Nick Toon (8 yards), fullback Jed Collins (3 yards) and tight end Josh Hill, whose 3-yard snag provided the first score of the game. Collins added 3 yards rushing on two carries.

Key Saints active on Sunday night

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/10/2013) Several Saints are active for Sunday night's game vs. Dallas after being listed on the injury report. They include guard Jahri Evans (hip), linebacker Curtis Lofton (hamstring, ankle), safety Kenny Vaccaro (chest), linebacker David Hawthorne (toe), tight end Josh Hill (foot) and defensive end Tom Johnson (hip).

Josh Hill ready to play

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/8/2013) Saints tight end Josh Hill (foot) is officially probable for Week 10 against the Cowboys, after getting through the week in practice without incident.

Saints' role players hardly factor Week 9

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11/3/2013) Saints fullback Jed Collins, tight end Josh Hill, wide receiver Nick Toon and tight end Benjamin Watson were hardly factors on the stat sheet during a 26-20 loss Week 9 at N.Y. Jets.

Collins had one carry for 7 yards, while Hill had one carry for minus-8 yards. Toon was targeted four times and had no catches. Watson, Collins and Hill all were targeted once but had no receptions.

Toon had the best chance to make an impact Week 9, but he couldn't haul in a pass that would have likely resulted in a 51-yard touchdown in the first half.

The Saints are back in action Week 10 vs. Dallas.

Josh Hill, Robert Meachem, Jed Collins among Drew Brees' targets

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/27/2013) Saints quarterback Drew Brees did his best to spread the ball around Week 8 against the Bills, completing passes to 10 different receivers, which means it wasn't just the superstars that contributed, but also fringe players like tight end Josh Hill, wide receiver Robert Meachem and fullback Jed Collins.

Hill had two catches (on two targets) for 17 yards. Meachem had one catch (on three targets) for 15 yards. Collins had one catch (on one target) for 8 yards.
