Cowboys list inactives Week 7

(10/19/2014) The Cowboys have listed LB Bruce Carter, OT Doug Free, DE Jack Crawford, QB Dustin Vaughan, S Jakar Hamilton, DT Davon Coleman and OT Donald Hawkins as inactive Week 7 against the Giants.

Carter was listed as out prior to the contest. Crawford was considered doubtful. The other five players are healthy scratches.

(10/6/2014) The Cowboys waived linebacker Keith Smith and activated safety Jakar Hamilton from the exempt/commissioner's permission list, reports ESPN.com. Hamilton returned to practice last week after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy, the report said.


Cowboys dump boatload of players to reach 53-man roster

(8/30/2014) The Cowboys have sliced their roster down to 53 with a slew of moves on Saturday.

The have released the following offensive players: wide receivers Jamar Newsome, LaRon Byrd and Dezmon Briscoe, guards Stephen Goodin and Uche Nwaneri, running backs Ryan Williams, Phillip Tanner and D.J. Adams, tackle Josh Aladenoye, center Ronald Patrick and tight end Asa Watson.

Among the defenders they let go are linemen Kenneth Boatright, Dartwan Bush and Caesar Rayford, cornerback Terrance Mitchell, safety Ryan Smithl and linebackers Dontravis Sapp, Will Smith and Keith Smith.

The Cowboys also waived/injured linebacker Orie Lemon and defensive tackle Zach Minter while placing safety Jakar Hamilton and cornerback Orlando Scandrick on the reserve/suspended list.


Jakar Hamilton handed four-game suspension

(8/28/2014) Multiple sources told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Cowboys safety Jakar Hamilton has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games. He is eligible to return Week 5 vs. Houston.

Seven Cowboys listed as probable Week 17

(12/27/2013) Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne, DB Jakar Hamilton, WR Dwayne Harris, DT Jason Hatcher, LB DeVonte Holloman, DE George Selvie and DE Jarius Wynn are probable Week 17.

All seven players were able to fully participate in practice Friday. Harris and Claiborne are both dealing with hamstring injuries.

Linebacker Sean Lee is out, as expected. He's joined by safety Jakar Hamilton, linebacker Justin Durant, linebacker DeVonte Holloman, tackle Darrion Weems, tight end Tyron Smith, and defensive tackle Everett Dawkins

The game is set for a 4:25 p.m. (Eastern) kickoff.

Sterling Moore among Cowboys cut

(8/31/2013) Cornerback Sterling Moore, who has earned some playing time with New England and Dallas, has been cut by the Cowboys. Moore played in five games in both 2011 and 2012. Another significant cut by the team is wide receiver Anthony Armstrong, who has 54 career catches.

Others waived by Dallas are the following: quarterback Alex Tanney, tackles Demetress Bell and Edawn Coughman, defensive backs Micah Pellerin, Xavier Brewer and Jakar Hamilton, linebackers Brandon McGee, Cameron Lawrence, Caleb McSurdy and Taylor Reed, running back Kendial Lawrence, defensive tackle Jerome Long, defensive ends Thaddeus Gibson and Jabari Fletcher, guard Ray Dominguez, wide receivers Tim Benford and Danny Coale, defensive lineman Jason Vega and center Kevin Kowalski


Taylor Reed and Jakar Hamilton cut by Dallas

(8/30/2013) The Cowboys released both linebacker Taylor Reed and safety Jakar Hamilton on Friday, according to The Dallas Morning News. Reed registered 16 tackles (11 solo), including one sack in preseason. Hamilton recorded 11 tackles during the exhibition season.
