Cowboys' Romo, Murray, Hitchens, McClain all cleared to play Sunday

(1/11/2015) Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens (ankle), linebacker Rolando McClain (knee, concussion), defensive end Jeremy Mincey (concussion), linebacker Bruce Carter (knee), tight James Hanna (knee), defensive tackle Nick Hayden (shoulder), safety Jeff Heath (thumb), guard Zack Martin (ankle), running back DeMarco Murray (hand) and quarterback Tony Romo (back) were cleared to play for Sunday's divisional playoff game at Green Bay.

Hitchens, McClain and Mincey were listed as questionable, while the remaining players were all considered probable.


Cowboys list four defensive players questionable for Sunday

(1/9/2015) The Cowboys listed a lengthy injury report that included four defenders listed as questionable for Sunday's playoff game against the Packers. Those included outside linebacker Anthony Hitchens (ankle), middle linebacker Rolando McClain (knee, concussion), defensive tackle Terrell McClain (ankle) and defensive end Jeremy Mincey (concussion). Tackle Doug Free (ankle) was the only player deemed doubtful for the game.

Meanwhile, the following players were labeled probable: Outside linebacker Bruce Carter (knee), tight end James Hanna (knee), guard Zack Martin (ankle), running back DeMarco Murray (hand), quarterback Tony Romo (back), defensive tackle Nick Hayden (shoulder) and safety Jeff Heath (thumb).


Cowboys' Anthony Hitchens, Tyrone Crawford active vs. Lions

(1/4/2015) Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens (ankle) and defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford (illness) are active for Sunday's Wild Card game against the Lions after both players were listed as questionable to play.

Hitchens has been dealing with a right high ankle sprain, while Crawford suffered an allergic reaction, putting his status in doubt Sunday.

The team had nine players listed as probable for the first-round playoff matchup, and all are active, including quarterback Tony Romo (back), running back DeMarco Murray (hand), guard Zack Martin (ankle), defensive tackles Josh Brent (calf) and Nick Hayden (shoulder), linebackers Bruce Carter (knee) and Rolando McClain (knee, illness) and safeties Jeff Heath (thumb) and C.J. Spillman (groin).

Dallas is a 6-point favorite at home against Detroit.


Cowboys unveil final injury report for matchup with Lions

(1/2/2015) The Cowboys have listed defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford (illness) and linebacker Anthony Hitchens (ankle) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Crawford played in 15 games for Dallas this season, totaling 33 tackles and three sacks while Hitchens had 75 total tackles and one interception.

The Cowboys have also listed the following players as probable for Sunday: quarterback Tony Romo (back), running back DeMarco Murray (hand), defensive tackle Josh Brent (calf), linebacker Bruce Carter (knee), defensive tackle Nick Hayden (shoulder), safety Jeff Heath (thumb), guard Zack Martin (ankle), linebacker Rolando McClain (knee/illness), safety C.J. Spillman (groin) and linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring).

The Cowboys are currently 6 1/2-point favorites at home against Detroit.


Cowboys mostly healthy heading into Week 17 against Washington

(12/26/2014) Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray, who was sent home with the flu Thursday, was able to participate fully Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Tackle Doug Free missed practice all week with an ankle injury and is doubtful. Linebacker Dekoda Watson has a hamstring injury and is out.

Tony Romo (back), Josh Brent (calf), Jeff Heath (thumb), Zack Martin (ankle), Rolando McClain (knee) and Bruce Carter (knee) are all listed as probable for Dallas.

The Cowboys are currently 5 1/2-point favorites on the road against Washington.

Defensive tackle Josh Brent (calf, personal) and outside linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring) were ruled out for the game. Tackle Doug Free (ankle) is doubtful, and guard Zack Martin (ankle) and running back DeMarco Murray (hand) are questionable.

Heath was doubtful to play Sunday while Watson had previously been ruled out. Romo was listed with a back injury, but was able to practice in full on both Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Josh Brent, Tyrone Crawford, Doug Free, Nick Hayden, Rolando McClain and Terrance Williams were also listed as probable, and should play.

The team did not list any players as questionable, though Jeff Heath was listed as doubtful.

Jack Crawford, Tyler Patmon and Dekoda Watson were all ruled out prior to Thursday.

Jeff Heath works past minor injury scare

(7/27/2014) Cowboys safety Jeff Heath suffered a minor injury scare during Sunday's practice, ESPN reports. Heath jammed his wrist while trying to make a tackle on Lance Dunbar. He briefly left practice and was evaluated by team trainers before returning to the field taped up.

Jeff Heath scores first ever touchdown

(11/24/2013) Cowboys defensive back Jeff Heath, a recent addition to the starting lineup, recovered a fumble in the first quarter and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown Week 12 at the Giants. He finished the game with six tackles, including five solo.

Heath was coming off a nine-tackle performance at New Orleans in Week 10.


Injury might force Cowboys to make change at strong safety

(10/24/2013) Cowboys safety J.J. Wilcox injured in his knee in practice Thursday and his status for Week 8 at Detroit is now up in the air, according to The Dallas Morning News. Sources said the team is awaiting the results of an MRI on Wilcox's injured knee.

If Wilcox, who moved into the starting lineup at strong safety Week 3, is unable to play, then Jeff Heath is expected to take his spot.
