On Tuesday the Bears announced the signings of receivers Armanti Edwards and Micheal Spurlock while agreeing to an injury settlement with Domenik Hixon and waiving linebacker Tana Patrick .
Edwards and Spurlock will likely compete for kick return duties with the Bears. Spurlock hasn't returned a kick for a touchdown since 2012 and has three in his eight-year career while Spurlock hasn't scored a touchdown in any way since entering the league in 2010.
Hixon tore his ACL in practice with the Bears last week and won't play football in 2014. Patrick, a former member of the Crimson Tide, was signed in May.
